I love both the city and country.
In cities, there's always people about or things going on. Whether it's three in the morning or six at night, someone's always out. Someone may even decide to have a late get together, which lasts into the night.
Nothing's ever quiet either. There's always a dog barking or a couple arguing to create some type of noise. It's good, because it makes you realize that there's a lot of other people who you can meet.
For the country is almost the exact opposite for the city. The country does go quiet every night, all the people sleeping and dreaming together. For when this happens, it becomes eerily quiet.
My best friends grandfather lives in the country and every laugh or sound echoed around us. It was hard to do anything without alerting at least have the town. It's so quiet that you can hear everything, from the crackling of a fire to a howl of a wolf far off in the distance.
As for which one I prefer? I'd have to say I'm a little of both.
