I'd have to agree with that post you've seen on Tumblr. That our body is our own canvas and that we started with a blank one but as we live, things appear on our bodies.Freckles, to prove that the sun has shone on our skin. That we've felt the hot rays and have basked in its glory while it coloured our skin.
Stretch marks, to show that we've grown so much and that we will continue to grow to our full potential.
Tattoos, because there's some things in life that you couldn't bare to forget. So instead of writing it down or tucking it away somewhere safe, we use our skin as the paper and the ink from the tattoo gun as our pencil. We let the world see what we don't want to forget, for it's much too important to us than what others think of our markings.
Scars, to know that life isn't always perfect. You will get hurt sometimes and it will leave a mark as a reminder that you can continue on.
Bruises, to represent that you can get hurt and you can heal. It may take awhile, but recovery is possible if you put your mind to it and you have the power to get through it.
Take care of your canvas, for it's the only one you have.
