November 2nd, evening

The reluctance on her face were obvious when we were about to leave for Busan in the afternoon.
She kept glancing over her shoulder, looking at her house with so much sadness on her face.
A long stretch of silence fell between the two of us in the car, but luckily it was only a couple of hours to Busan.
"You are a very rich man, ajusshi," Hyo Rin had finally spoken upon arriving at the family lodge. And before i could open the door for her, Hyo Rin had already stepped out from the car.
"Its not mine. Its my brother's," i explained to her, taking out her luggage and my bag pack from the car boot.
"He's married?"
"With two kids," i said,"Come, lets get inside. Its freezing out here."
Limping, Hyo Rin walked behind me as i lead our way to the front door.
Amazed by the choice of furnishing, Hyo Rin was in awed the moment she stepped in the living room while i placed her luggage and my bag in my room.
She was examining the photographs that were placed on the mantelpiece with great amusement. She sniggered when she spotted an old photo of mine when i was around 15years old.
"You were so skinny back then," Hyo Rin said.
"I was," i said, smiling,"Wasnt i good looking?"
She scoffed,"Right."
"So, what would you like to have for lunch? And dinner? We can have a bbq at the terrace." I asked her.
Hyo Rin stared at me and asked,"I thought you got some work to do."
She eyed me suspiciously and i had completely forgotten about it. Stammering through my explanation that work can wait, the damage was done.
"You're lying," she said.
"Yes! I was," i admitted, giving in since there was no point for me to go on anymore.
"Why?"
"I just want to spend more time with you. Because by the time we get back to the city, its not like you would want to hang out with me like we used to," i said quickly,"You kept giving me excuses like im dating your sunbae."
"You are dating her," Hyo Rin pointed that out.
"But that doesnt mean that our friendship should end this way," i said quickly,"I dont want our friendship to end just because im dating your sunbae. And, you're my very first friend thats truly honest and, i like having you around."
"But friends, dont kiss each other," she said and to my annoyance, she was referring to what had happened between the two of us a few nights ago. She said it with a smile.
"Nevermind," Hyo Rin sighed heavily.
"And watching you walk away like what you did a few nights ago?" I scoffed,"Even though im a businessman but that risk isnt the one that im willing to make."
"Right," she said, rolling her eyes and walked passed by me. For one minute, i thought that she was going to leave until she asked,"Arent you're going to show me around?"
"You're not leaving?" I blurted out.
"Do you want me to?"
"No! Of course not," i smiled gleefully.
The afternoon had gone by just like that and i gave her a tour around the lodge. With her limping behind me, she listened raptly to my stories how i used to come here a few years back and how my family spent most of our time here whenever we can during the weekends.
"Did you ever brought Eun Suh here?" She asked once we finally got back to the living room.
"No," i said,"I did try but she refused."
"Any other women?"
I laughed at her question,"No. Its a family lodge. Not a place for a one night stand or a honeymoon getaway."
"Ah. So, you brought me according to what and which reason?" She asked, rather sweetly, along side with sarcasm.
"It can be both, depending on which one you want," i replied,"Depending on what we're about to do for the rest of the night."
"I hope it involves plenty of food," she sighed heavily.
"Are you hungry?"
"Yes."
"Why didnt you say so? But you need to wait. I need to do some groceries shopping though," i said to her, grabbing my jacket and keys,"You dont mind waiting? Unless you want to follow me to downtown? But i think its better for you to stay behind. Your ankle doesnt look good."
"You wont be long?" She asked.
"I dont think so. Im going by car, not by foot," i said to her,"Dont tell me you're scared of staying home alone?"
"No," she smiled brightly,"But if you go out for too long, i might, you know, i might ran off. Go back to the city myself."
She emphasized her few last sentence with sarcasm and provocation, smiling sweetly at me, she shrugged and before she could walk away from me, i grabbed her by the arm and said,"I have this urge of tying you up so that you could stay in place when i get back. But since im dealing with a budding new lawyer, i dont want to be charged with kidnapping."
"And dont forget, sexual harassment as well. Im not into bondage, ajusshi," she replied.
Bondage? I laughed. I let go of my grasped and left. So, i was off to get some food and drinks for the both of us tonight.
I searched for the nearest mini mart to get some titbits and drinks before heading to the market. From a wide selection of fresh poultry and meat products, not to mention seafoods, i lost my sense of direction for a few minutes. Not knowing on what to buy and what to get. Some grilled beef should be okay, i thought to myself and bought some meat and when i passed by some chicken meat, i bought some breast meat. Regretted buying them, i kept wondering what should be paired with it. Maybe Hyo Rin would know what to do, i told myself. After getting some fresh veggies, i headed back home as soon as possible.
"Hyo Rin?" I called her out when she was no longer in the living room. My heart sank. Did she really mean it when she said she would leave when i was not around.
"Hyo Rin?" I searched for her at the second floor and still, nobody was there. Frantically, i searched the entire house for her. Calling out for her name as loud as i could. Each room, i opened and slammed shut. I was so looking forward hanging out with her tonight. And she left. Miserably, i sat down on the high stool, staring at all the things that i just bought. Until, i heard the back door near the kitchen slide open.
"What is wrong with you?" She asked, pink in the face,"I was at the back terrace."
"You're still here!" I squealed in delight,"I thought you have left."
"No, i did answer your call a few times. Didnt you hear me?" Hyo Rin asked.
I couldnt help myself but to hug her in relieved,"I thought you left. I thought i would never see you again."
"Isnt this a bit too dramatic for someone who just got back from groceries shopping?" She said teasingly, quite unmercifully i'd say.
Geez, this lady really had no idea how miserable i was. Slightly annoyed and irritated, i asked her was she was doing at the terrace.
"Starting the fire for our bbq of course," Hyo Rin said,"Did you buy some drinks?"
I watched her rummaging through the contents in the plastic bags and hilariously, she opted out a can of beer.
"You're going to sit there and stare at me or you want to help me getting all these ready for the bbq?" She asked.
I grabbed the plastic bags of the drinks and placed it on the terrace before ushering her out to wait for me instead. Forcing her to sit down, i told her,"Stay here. Dont stand up for too long. And if possible, sing. So that i know you're still outside here."
"Like i can sing," she said quickly.
I went back to the kitchen and began preparing what was needed to be prepared.
It was around 6p.m. once i was done and the sun were setting by the horizon. It took me about half hour prepping the meat and by the time i walked outside, Hyo Rin was making sure the fire in the bbq stove was hot enough.
"Nice job with the fire," i said, impressed. Not many ladies nor women and even some men, could start a fire and managed to let it continue on burning.
The fire was perfect enough to start grilling the meat. Each slice of meat sizzled and soon after, the air was filled with the delicious smell of it.
I took a bottle of red Bordeaux which i got from the mini bar and uncorked it open, causing Hyo Rin to stare at me alarmingly.
"What?" I asked, pouring some wine into two glasses and handed her hers.
"I just drank a can of beer," she said.
"And?"
"Now, you're offering me some wine?"
"Yes," i said,"Is there a problem? Red wines are best are the best to be drink during bbq especially if its red meat. You should know that."
"I know but mixing two different types of alcoholic drinks is not what i usually want to do," she explained nervously.
"You're afraid of getting drunk?" I almost laughed,"Im sure an alcohol enthusiast like you wont be having any problems getting drunk. Besides, we're not going anywhere. Dont worry. Just relax and enjoy."
"Its not about getting drunk that im worried of. I have this tendency of not being able to remember anything if i got drunk, especially having two different drinks," Hyo Rin explained.
"Dont worry, im pretty sure you wont be able to do anything stupid later on," i assured her.
The meat was ready. Medium rare and it was perfectly grilled. I watched Hyo Rin ate and it was satisfying to her eating some of it appreciatively. I poured some more wine in her glass which she looked hesitant.
"I got to admit, red Bordeaux is tastes better like this," Hyo Rin said.
"I told you so," i replied smugly,"You can leave the beer out. I still have another bottle if you want."
"Slowly, please," she said quickly, eyes widened,"Its only 7p.m. The night is still young. I dont want to pass out too early."
"Its just a suggestion," i said to her, smiling. I need to slow down too, on drinking. I tend to get tipsy faster drinking wine and usually my limit was two glasses of it. It was already my second glass. Crap.
"I was thinking of doing all this back at your place," i admitted.
"Some other time," she replied, grilling some more slices of meat and the breast meat which i had completely forgotten,"Besides, here's not bad."
"Well, i'd still prefer your place though. Small and quiet. It feels different. That kind of place is exactly what i had in mind if i were to get married later on."
"Wow," Hyo Rin's eyes sparkled,"Someone is thinking about marriage. Am i going to hear any wedding bells soon?"
"No," i scoffed,"I said, if.."
"Well, you are dating someone," she pointed that out, again and frowning,"Dont you think you need to settle down? You're not that young anymore."
"Dating someone doesnt mean that im ready to marry whom im dating with," i snapped and without myself realising it, i gulped down my entire second glass and poured some more.
"Okay," she said rather slowly,"I think you need to stop drinking for awhile."
And before i knew it, my third glass was empty. Dammit. Hyo Rin's eyes widened, and quickly she said,"I have the feeling that your wine intake is limited."
"Yes," i said, apologetically.
"Um, well, we should stop for awhile," Hyo Rin suggested. She placed a few slices of breast meat onto my plate while she began to dig into the side dish which i made earlier.
"Have you ever got drunk before? Until you couldnt remember anything?" I asked.
She laughed,"Yes, back during days while i was still doing me degree. I went out with a couple of friends and my ex boyfriend tagged along after that. We were celebrating something  i couldnt remember and when i woke up, i was in my friend's room. But luckily, i wasnt the only one."
"Ex boyfriend?" I asked,"Why ex?"
"Of course ex.. He cheated on me," she explained and watched me poured some wine in her glass and raised an eyebrow when i kept my glass untouched.
"Cheated on you? How did you find out?" I asked.
"Well, i saw them together, in the library," Hyo Rin said.
"In the library? Did you know who that girl was?"
"Well, yes. It was Ye Jin," she answered and that answered was something that i never expected.
"Did she know that he was your boyfriend?" I asked again.
"She said no. Because when we were in a relationship, i chose to kept our relationship a secret because his father was the largest benefactor of the university and apparently, he had a feud once with my grandfather," she explained, drank her wine in between,"That was why i wanted to keep it as a secret. But unfortunately, he took that advantage to cheat on me."
"Nobody knows that you were together?"
Hyo Rin shook her head,"No. Including Ye Jin. I didnt put the blame on her, even though she still apologise to me."
"So, that was it? You're one and only relationship?"
"Yes. I had so much to deal with after that," she said and her face was flaming red. Eyes were droopy and a clear sign that she was on phase one of tipsy.
"What about now? Any ideal man?" I asked teasingly,"Im sure you have at least one ideal man."
She licked her lips and smiled, shrugging, she turned away. Staring out the darkness of the night sky.
"Even if i have one, i dont think i could be with him," she said rather sadly.
"Why?" I asked in surprised. Half hoping that it might be me but when she told me that her ideal man would be Jang Dong Gun, my heart sank.
"He's married, with two kids," i said with great annoyance,"I guess you must have watched his drama The Gentleman's Dignity then."
"Yes!" She said gleefully,"Kim Min Jong is still single, from what ive heard. He's not bad looking either."
"He's a year older than i am," i said quickly,"Seems like you prefer older men."
"Pretty much," she nodded happily,"I find a single man in his 40s somehow, sexier and attractive."
"So, im sexy and attractive?" I smiled brightly,"Thank you so much for the compliment."
"Well, yeah. And you're a very nice guy, ajusshi," she added,"And.."
"And?" I waited for her reply but the only reply she gave me was a smile. Not just an ordinary smile, definitely with hidden meaning.
"Well?" I asked. She just gave me a shrugged. She got up to her feet and went back inside, i followed suit.
"Why are you following me? I just need to go to the bathroom," Hyo Rin said, amused with my behaviour, i think.
"Its on the left," i said to her, swaying a little and bumped against the cabinet which i never knew existed.
"Whoa," Hyo Rin said, holding onto my arms, preventing me to fall,"You need to lie down."
Smirking slightly, she lead to the spare bedroom which nobody ever used it. The only thing i remembered as i fell into the bed was ; Hyo Rin was telling me to wait. And there was something else. My head couldnt stop spinning and the longer i opened my eyes, the heavier my head seems. That was it. I fell asleep. And erotic dreams that i had felt surreal.
