October 28th

It was just an ordinary day. Working from 9a.m. til 5p.m. I wasnt expecting something to happen nor ajusshi to come over just to see me. I was slightly hurt. I enjoyed his company but seems like i was the only one who felt that way. Lonelier than ever, my mood level literally dropped to -0 ever since yesterday. Although Jin Hyuk had finally come home but, spending time with him doesnt feel the same. The night when he gave me the necklace, we went out for dinner at one of his friend's exclusive restaurant. Jin Hyuk mainly talked about his life at UK and all sorts of people he met. It was a fun experience from the sound of it. I was looking through my menu when suddenly, Jin Hyuk asked me this,"Have you met someone?"
His smile doesnt reach his eyes. For some reason, he looked slightly jealous and doesnt look very pleased.
"No," i told him,"Why?"
"Because you look different," Jin Hyuk answered,"You look, distracted."
"I just got back from work and i only ate a bagel for lunch," i explained.
"And you met someone?" He asked again.
"No," i said,"Although i did met a few weird customers who insisted to put some some discounts for toilet paper."
Jin Hyuk looked slightly cheerful,"Funny."
"It was."
"No. Not that. You," he said.
I frowned. Wondering where the conversation might be heading.
"You graduated from a law school but now, you're working as a sales assistant in a supermarket," Jin Hyuk said,"You struggled for 4years."
"Its hypermarket," i corrected him.
"Fine. Hypermarket," annoyed, Jin Hyuk took a sip of his drink,"You're still running away from your family?"
"Stepfamily. They dont like it when grandpa spent too much money on me."
"Did you even manage to do your 8weeks internship?"
"Only for two weeks," i said,"Can we order now? Im starving."
I purposely changed the subject. Talking about that seemed inappropriate over dinner. We talked and made jokes about a few things until two particular person came over to our table. Ajusshi and Ye Jin.
Jin Hyuk greeted Ye Jin warmly, as they both knew each other.
"Would you like to join us?" Jin Hyuk asked them and somehow, i was hoping that they would reject his offer. Was not surprised when the both of them said,"Why not?"
Ye Jin sat next to Jin Hyuk and ajusshi was next to me. I was expecting them to start talking about medical related issue but no. They talked about the time when they were back during their university days and when i turned at ajusshi, he was listening. Being polite to his date's friend. Until my name was dragged into their conversation. Recalling back their first time meeting me at the nearby mini mart.
"Not my proudest moment," i mumbled.
But Jin Hyuk smiled fondly at the memory,"But after that, we ended up being close friends until now."
"Thanks to three small containers of pudding," I added.
"What happened?" Ajusshi asked, looking very interested to know what happened.
"Jin Hyuk and i wanted to grab a quick lunch. Hyo Rin was sitting outside the mini mart," Ye Jin said,"Jin Hyuk accidentally bumped into her when she was trying to eat her pudding."
"Everything fell onto my lap," i said,"And Jin Hyuk kept apologizing to me, and he bought me another one."
"I gave it to her, and then, she got some trouble trying to open the lid," Jin Hyuk added,"She forced it open and the pudding splattered in her shirt this time."
"It was hilarious. Hyo Rin cursed at her own clumsiness and bought her third pudding," Ye Jin said,"Jin Hyuk helped her out. He accidentally spilled the contains onto her feet."
"I went back home with pudding on me," I said, couldnt help myself but to laugh at the memory as well.
"What did you buy for lunch after that then?" Ajusshi asked.
"Pudding," Jin Hyuk laughed,"She bought four of it before i send her back home."
"Thanks to pudding, we've been friends ever since."
"Speaking of friends," Ye Jin said,"How come i never see you dated anyone at that time?"
"I'd rather have friends than to be in a relationship. Losing a friend hurts more than losing a boyfriend," I said, which was true,"And i dont want to take any risks dating a friend. If i were to break up with him, even if we stay as friends, its not going to be the same. I'd rather not."
"Now? Are you seeing anyone?" she asked again.
"She said no," Jin Hyuk said,"But i think she met someone."
"Who?"
All eyes were on me and when i was about to tell them that i havent met anyone, my phone rang. Took me awhile to see who was the caller and it was a call from my stepgrandmother. I flipped the phone to mute it and sensing something coming, Jin Hyuk immediately suggested a nice lounge to hang out at not far from the restaurant. Ye Jin agreed but i excused myself. I told them that i need to meet my grandfather at so and so street.
"What about you?" Ye Jin asked ajusshi,"Will you be okay? I mean, since tomorrow you need to attend a breakfast meeting at 8."
"I dont mind. I cant let my date to go home by herself, can i?" Ajusshi answered suavely.
"I can send her home," Jin Hyuk offered,"If thats okay, with you?"
"I dont mind," he answered.
"Do you need a lift?" Jin Hyuk asked me.
I told him that i would be going the opposite route and at that precise moment, ajusshi said,"Great. I can drop you off. Its not far from my house."
Damn ajusshi. He was making me feeling uncomfortable to look at Ye Jin but seems like Ye Jin didnt mind. She was okay with it. More than okay. Though Jin Hyuk looked reluctant. Furthermore, that was a lie. His house was at somewhere else.
I followed ajusshi to his car the moment after Ye Jin and Jin Hyuk left.
"Hop in," he said.
"Why did you lie? Back in there?" I asked him,"I thought your house is somewhere near mine."
"Yes. And i do own a house nearby so and so street," ajusshi explained,"Are you coming? I'll send you home."
Home? How did he know?
"I know. You look tired," ajusshi said, answering to my thoughts,"Or you want to go somewhere else? I can take you there if you want."
"You're dating my sunbae," i said.
"And? Dating your sunbae but not keeping a good friendship between us?" He asked,"I dont like the sound of that. When i make friends, i value them especially you. You're a special friend whom i never quite had. I just want to hang out with you. For the past few days, i havent got the time to see you."
"So, where do you suggest?" I asked before he could go on.
That night, was the night that i finally got my friend back. Even just for the night. I didnt want to get my hopes high for i know that today, he wont be around as  he was busy.
Deep in thoughts, i sat somewhere near the boiler room when i saw ajusshi talking to my supervisor. Hidden in view, i heard him asking for my whereabouts. My supervisor said she didnt know and the last time she saw me was somewhere near the boiler room. Darn. I quickly pretended that i was looking through at the price tags when ajusshi had finally found me.
"I'll pick you up at 6."
That was what he said before he leave.
