**Marli's POV**
"Call me crazy but I did." I look at Avi, seeing the seriousness in his face, that soon turns into a smile. "She's watching over you Mar." I look at him with confusion, but after piecing it together, he's right.
"Marli." I hear that same woman's voice from my dreams, but this time she's in panic. "Marli, honey, you need to wake up." "Why?" I ask. "As if my life matters." Okay, she looked hurt by that. "Marli, your life means so much, think about it." I can't think about anything. "Who knows how Karlie would have tuned out, Esther would still be going through Depression-" "Going through depression?" I ask, "Yeah. Her and me both dealt with it until we saw you." "Me? Are you my mom?" I ask, my mind becoming clearer. "Yes honey. I am. But that's not the point here, Esther would still be going through depression, Shane would still be suicidal, and wouldn't eat, your life means so much hun." "Then why do those girls hate me, why did you have to leave me there, why do I have to have these voices in my head and why do I have to cry myself to sleep every night?!" I scream, "I'm just a roadblock!" "That is bullshit Marli Raelyn! The hardships you go through will make you stronger. You have had a lot happen to you, and more to come! Now you need to wake up, for Esther, for Karlie, for Avi, even Mitch!" Right then I hear Avi's voice."Marli!" She tears up, "Wait!" I screams, "Listen to me." I hug my mother's cold body, "I love you, and I don't blame you for anything, I never had, I just want you to be proud of me." I cry, "Oh, I am sweetie. Very proud, and I love you."
"I can't believe she's been there this whole time." I whisper, running into Avi's arms, coughing. "Come on, little duck. Let's go get our stuff and get you changed." We walk back to the bridge, getting Avi's stuff. I had picked up a stick along the way and shoved it into the crack where I fell. Avi takes me into a cute little boutique. The lady gets me clothes, not asking a single question except my size, which she measured anyway. "Come here." She calls to me, walking me to the back. "Here." She hands me a towel and I dry myself through my clothes, I see that my white converse are muddy tan now, and I frown. Shane got me these. She makes me take them off, "Please don't throw them away, they're special." I whisper. "No problem sweetie." Her southern accent is clear, and when she disappears, Avi speaks up, "We need to stop by the hotel first, Esther is worried sick." I can tell he's lying, Esther would come here. She has before when I got stuck on Todrick's roof. I giggle at that, remembering how good it felt to be up there, until I got caught by a shingle and couldn't move my arm. I'm such a clutz. I wonder what happened though.
**Mitch's POV**
"Hey! This is Scott Hoying, so sorry I can't come to the phone right now, but leave a message with your name I will try to get back to you!" I hang up the phone, dropping it on the floor. I'm backed into a corner of the room and I've had three panic attacks. I don't know what I did, I haven't been blinded by anger in so long, my mind won't show me what I did, just panic attack after panic attack. I start to have another one when the door opens.
**Scott's POV**
I walk into the room looking for my wallet. I know I shouldn't be here, but I need it. When I walk in, the room is trashed. Clothes scattered everywhere, bedding in the floor, and everything else scattered about. I start to worry when I can hear crying coming from the corner of the room. "Mitchie?" I walk around the room until I see him in the corner, curled into a ball and rocking back and forth. "Mitchie Moo..." I sit in the floor in front of him, "It's okay Mitch. Everything's alright." I keep my distance for a while, trying to see if I could calm him with my voice, but when that doesn't work, I put a hand on his arm, "Mitch, I'm right here, look at me baby." His head shoots up and his brown eyes lock on mine, waterfalls still pouring down from them. He cries harder and smacks my hand away, but his eyes are still locked. "Mitchie..." I pull him into my lap, although he's trying to pull away, pushing my arms and hitting my chest, sometimes it's like dealing with a small child. I get him close to me and he tries to run away from me, like a scene from Mama where the littlest girl is trying to get away from the uncle's girlfriend. (Video if I don't make sense.) "Hey, hey." I pull him close to me and he bites my hand, "Okay, ow." I wrap my legs around him, and he yells and cries, "Mitchie, shh." I get him close enough to keep him still, "Mitch, you're okay, everything's okay. I'm okay, Karlie's okay, we're all okay." I rock him back and forth as he relaxes a bit, "Shhh." the crying stops as I smooth his messy hair. "Scottie?" He cracks out, "Yes honey. Are you okay now?" I still hold him close when he nods, but I unwrap my legs, "What did I do?" He mumbles, looking at the bleeding bite mark on my hand, then the bruise forming on my cheek, "Did-did I hit you?" He whispers as I nod slowly, "You hit me and called me vulgar names." He threatens to cry again, so I start rocking again, "Did Karlie hear me?" Mitch croaks, "Yes Mitchie, she did." There's no point in lying to him. "Oh my God..." He cries into my chest, gripping my shirt, "I'm so sorry, I've just been so stressed with not being with Karlie through all these new things, you and I have fought almost this whole damn tour, and fighting with Kirstie on top of that, I just feel like a bad person, husband, father, and friend." He hiccups at the end, "I know babe, it's been getting to me too. I don't think we realized what being away from Karlie for so long would do to us with everything that's happened." I admit, tearing up myself. "Do you think we're bad parents?" Mitch asks, "No baby, you at least aren't, I don't think Karlie would've asked for anyone else." I kiss his temple. "I'm sorry I bit you, and slapped you in the face." I look down at him, smiling. "It's okay my little Mitchell." He wraps his arms around my neck, kissing me. "Now where's my wallet?" I ask him, "I thought it was in your pocket?" He reaches behind me, where sure enough, my wallet is perfectly sitting in my pocket. "Well." I laugh. "You're a dork Kathrene." He laughs along, getting up and walking to the bathroom, washing his face. "I'm going to go talk to Kevin, but then I'll come back so we can straighten all this up before we go, okay?" Mitch nods as his phone rings, "Yes Avi?" He answers as I walk out. I get to Kevin and Avi's room, using the key Kevin gave me, I open the door to see Karlie sitting on the bed, watching t.v. "Hello my Angel." I smile, going to smooth her hair but she runs away. "Karlie?" I ask as she hides under a table. I move closer and she screams, sending Kevin rushing out of the bathroom, toothbrush in his mouth, "What the heck?" He mumbles, walking back and spitting out the toothpaste in his mouth. "I don't know." I look at her under the table, then I remember that day she ran from me, hiding in her bathroom. "Fuck." I mumble quietly, "It's okay, I was just going to tell you I found my wallet. I'll talk to you when you're done." He nods, going back into the bathroom and I'm thankful when the shower turns on. "Karlie..." I turn, sitting in front of her, "No!" She screams, "How are you so much like your daddy?" I ask as she tries to run and I grab her arm, careful not to hold on to tight. "No!!" She screams again, trying to push my hand off her arm, "Babydoll." I pull her into a tight hug, "Nooo!!" She screams again, "Karlie!" She runs from me and out of the room, I get up and run after her. "Karlie?!" I run up and down the hallway looking for her. "Scott, wha-" Mitch walks out and our daughter attaches herself to him, "Well hello honey." She looks up and her eyes go wide and she runs to Kirstin, who has walked out too, to see what's going on. "What's up little one?" She picks her up and Karlie cries, "What's going on?" Kirstie looks at both of us with concern. "All I know is when I walked out here she hugged my legs and when she looked up at me she freaked out and ran to you." Mitch holds his hands up, but I know Kit can see the hurt in his eyes just as well as I can. "Karlie, go watch cartoons please." She sets the little one down and follows her into the room, coming out a few seconds later. "Okay, I heard screaming and yelling and doors slamming. What in the hell is going on with you two?" She looks at us, full of concern. Mitch starts with his story and I space out remembering the last time she looked at us like that.
"You were soo checking him out!" I shout at Mitch, "I was not!" he argues, crossing his arms. "Oh yeah, so you weren't checking out Ryan Tingle either!?" I scream, forgetting that he didn't know that I knew about that. "You know!?" He screams horrified. "That you kissed my friend, yes! I did fucking know that! It's not like the whole school wasn't talking about it Mitch! I can't believe you kissed someone else while we were dating, let a alone a good friend of mine!" I clench my fists, ready to walk out of his room. "I wasn't thinking Scott! He kissed me first!" "I don't care! You still kissed him either way! And then didn't even fucking tell me! I trusted you with all of me Mitch! God damn it I still do! But you can just go skipping around, kissing whoever you please!" "Shut up Scott! That's not true and you know it!" He screams, "Then what about Dalton, huh?! Cole, William, Bobby, Tyler, Cody,-" "Shut the fuck up! Get the hell out, go away!" He pushes me out of his room, "Fine! Alex's a better kisser anyways!" I yell, lying. I couldn't kiss my new boyfriend without thinking of him. He slams the door in my face, and I turn around to see Jeremy right there, Kirstie's new friend. "Oh, sorry about that." I say sheepishly. A little while later Kirstie hops up the stairs, walking past me and pulling Mitch out of his room. "What in the hell has been going on with you two?" She looks at us, full of concern.
"And that catches you up on my side." Mitch finishes, looking at me. "Well." I start, explaining my side.
**Marli's POV**
"Wow." I spin around in the purple dress. "You know, I don't care for dresses but this is nice."I smile at the store clerk, Jamey. "Good sweetheart. So that one?" She asks and I nod. "Good choice." Avi smiles, as do I. I sit on the chair and she braids my hair again, since it's dry now. "Done!" Someone calls out, "Bring them here please!" She calls back and a girl walks out holding my converse, which are clean. "They weren't dry yet, so that made it easier." She smiles, "I also waterproofed them." She turns to Avi, "Make sure her mom gets that. Those shoes would appreciate it." She hands him a white bottle of some chemical. "Come on, little duck we need to get going." Avi says after paying the woman, grabbing my hand.
We get to the dinner and everyone seems a little shaken up, Mitch and Scott aren't sitting next to each other, momma, me, Karlie, and Kirstie are in between them. Kevin's eyeing them carefully, and momma won't let go of me. Neither will Karlie. It's like she's turned back into that same itty-bitty girl who couldn't do anything to save herself. What is going on?
