Chapter 19

**Scott's POV**

I'm just laying in this hospital bed, watching whatever on T.V. since they won't give me my phone. I've been extremely bored all day. I wonder where Mitch and the girls are. "Mr.Hoying??" A nurse, Indie, walks in. "Come in." I say, wait, come in?? "There are some visitors here for you." She smiles. "Really who??" My eyes look down as I see a familiar little blonde girl with brown orbs and a beautiful face. "Karlie." I can't help but tear up as I smile. She's no longer matted and dirty. Her hair is clean and she's wearing simple pair of athletic shorts and a "Daddy's Girl" tank. "Papa!!!" She screams running up to me. I pick her up and set her in my lap, hugging her tightly. "My baby girl." I smile. "Scott..." I look up and see my beautiful husband. "M-mitchie." I cry. Karlie wiggles over to the side as Mitch walks up. I reach out and pull him in the tightest hug ever. I don't think I've ever cried more in five seconds in my whole life. "Oh my God. You're okay." He cries. "Hey, I'll never leave you." I shush him. "I thought you had left me though. I've been more scared in my life." "And I don't plan you to be ever again." I pull back so I can look him dead in the eyes. You can tell sleep hasn't come easy to him, the bags under his eyes show proudly. Slowly, our lips meet and it's the best feeling in the world. You can hear Karlie and Marli talking. "Eww." Karlie giggles. "No, Karlie, that's what love is." You can hear Marli smile. "I want love." Karlie says back. "You have it. It comes in Daddies too." They laugh. We pull back but Mitch doesn't let go. "Hey, Mar." I smile at her. "Hey Scott." She gives a small wave. "Papa!! You wanna know what we did today??" Karlie giggles. "Something tells me it's better than being in a hospital bed and being dragged from place to place." Mitch giggles. "Well. Daddy and Marli went wif everyone else to go do grown up and grown up kid stuff." "Grown up kid??" I look at Mitch. "I don't know." He laughs. "So me and Cheeto watched Ariel and Brave with Mickey." "Cheeto??" "Chester." Mitch explains and I nod. "Oh, got it." "Den, we went to a pwetty park and pwayed....what was it??" "Capture The Flag: Tag Edition." Mitch grins as I laugh. "I remember that." "Yeah!! And Daddy, Marli, and me won." Karlie smiles. "It was nice after sitting in a courtroom all day." Marli rolls her eyes, crossing her arms, then quickly undoes it and apologises. "Hey, either you were gonna do it or me girlfriend."Mitch laughs. Karlie tells me more about what they did today and I just hold Mitch's hand and smile. "Hey, girls??" Indie walks in. "Uh huh??" Marli mumbles. "Ms.Kaplan really wants to see you two." "Can we Mitch??" Marli looks at Mitch, hope glowing all over her. "Sure. Go ahead." They squeal and follow Indie outside. As soon as the door shuts Mitch is hugging me again, but it's a lot tighter hug than before. I scoot over a bit so he can lay next to me, he crawls beside me and starts to breakdown. "I-I missed you so much S-Scott." He says in between sobs. "I missed you too babe. So much." I start to cry. I thought I would never get to see my beautiful Mitchie ever again. I rub my free hand up and down his back to comfort him as the tears keep coming. "Sing something." Mitch suddenly says. "Huh??" "Sing something, like you used to sing to me all the time. I miss that." I smile. "I'll try."
