Kennedy King:

Strangely, I haven't cried since I last saw Justin two days ago. Sure, at his house I felt the urge to cry and a few tears might have slipped when I was there, but as soon as I got into my car and drove back to Vanessa's place, I didn't cry.

I didn't say anything, I didn't eat anything, I didn't do anything. I just walked inside, went to the guest room and shut myself in. Two days later, I'm back in the same position I was when Justin and I had our first major argument. Back in this room, refusing to leave with Vanessa and Austin worrying about me all over again.

"Kenn?" Vanessa knocked on the door before entering into the room. "You want to come out and get some air?" She asks kindly with a soft voice.

I was sitting in bed, fresh out of the shower with damp hair against my shoulders. "Oh good, you showered!" She brightens up when seeing my wet hair. "Yeah," I stand up, walking to the dresser to grab an elastic.

"I'm fine, Vanessa." I lie before she can say anything else.

I know I'm not fine, but I can't just sit here and pity myself for all of this. I'm not going down that path again.

"Let's get some air." I agree, walking past her and Vanessa rushes to my side. "Really? You sure you okay? You don't seem okay..." She trails off and I turn to look at her.

"Van, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." I send her closed mouth smile, trying to convince her. She doesn't seem fully convinced, but nods her head. "Okay. We'll meet up with Alexandra and Lee if that's cool with you?"

"Absolutely fine." I agree, swallowing the lump in my throat. You need to get up and going. I remind myself. Today's a new day and I need to find some distractions from Justin. I also have to get all my stuff back and find a new apartment. I can't just live here with Vanessa.

She's done so much for me, as has Austin, and I don't to trouble them any longer.

Vanessa and I leave the apartment and go for a quick jog together after changing into some athletic wear that she let me borrow. We stop end our job at a park that was forty minutes away from the apartment and I slump again the bench, panting. I really need to start excising.

I watch as Vanessa pulls out her phone, replying to a text she just received before pushing her phone back into her pocket. "Alexandra just texted. We are going to Lee's place tonight for a very much needed girls night." Vanessa tells me. "All planned by Lee of course." She adds at the end, in a way to say we have no way out of it.

When Lee plans something, she expects everyone to make it whether you want to go or not. I try not to think of it as a bad thing. She was trying to do something nice for me. Usually when you break up with someone or are having issues with your partner, you can turn to your friends for comfort and help if you feel like you can talk to them.

I know I can tell the girls anything and I know Vanessa has kept them up to date with the fight between Justin and I. I also am aware that Chris and Austin may have spoken to Justin about it as well.

Nodding I reply, "I'm okay with that."

That night, Vanessa and I drive to Lee's place together where she embraces me as soon as the door opens. "You alright?" She asked as Alex walked over to hug me as well.

"Fine." I put a half smile on my face, trying my best to not seem so down.

"Good. Let's just relax tonight." Alexandra says, pulling both Vanessa and I inside.
