Chapter 20

(Sophia POV)
At this point the guild had quite a few people in it. People were taking quick jobs in hopes to get back by night-fall. I looked into my tea cup. The thunder legion had yet to return, and I was getting a little bit worried. I was told by many people they're very strong, I thought to myself, so maybe I should stop worrying.

"I hope everything went well." I mumble to myself. I sigh and walk over to the counter where the men fighting over me had been. I assume they left after I did.

"Umm Mira..." I said as I sat down quietly.

She looks over. "Hm?" She replies.

"Do... Do you th-" I begin to ask her as I hear the door open.

I look over to see freed. His face was stern, almost angry. I stood up and made my way to him. When he saw me, he didn't smile. I smiled at him and came up to him.

"Hi Freed. How was the mission?" I asked.

"Fine." He said looking down at me. He had a stern look in his eye and one hand stuffed in his coat pocket.

"I'm glad you made it back okay..." I smile, a light blush crossing my face.

"Thank you." He says looking down at me. "If you'll excuse me." He says nodding his head at me and walking away.

My heart sank. "Oh....Okay..." I mumbled under my breath. My eyes began to tear up slightly. What happened to the sweet Freed I knew? I thought. The cute Freed who smiles and laughed happily.

I walked back over to my tea I had left on the counter.

"What was it you wanted to ask me?" Mira asked happily. I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Oh nothing." I smiled sweetly at her. She looked at me quizzically, but before she could continue to question me, someone called for her, and she went to serve them.

A young man sat down next to me: A pink haired Mage. Oh! This was one of the other dragon slayers! I looked over at him and smiled.

"Hi... I don't think I've introduced myself yet. I'm Sophia." I say to him. He looks over at me and shines a bright smile.

"I'm Natsu. Hey aren't you the girl who took down that one assassin? I heard about it but I was out on a job." He said with another grin.

"Umm yeah, that was me." I chuckled awkwardly.

"Well it sounded awesome! Welcome to Fairy Tail." He said and walked off with his drink. I laughed slightly. He didn't know the truth.

Freed (pov) {same time repeated}

I step in the door and the guild was full par the norm. I take a few steps in and see her. Sophia. She was still here! My heart leaps. I want to go hug her say hello. Ask her to stay. But... I can't. I- I can't have this in my way. I take a deep breath. She walks over.

Her eyes sparkle as she looks up at me. "Hi freed, how was the mission?!" She asks me. She is so beautiful.

"Fine." I reply. I grip my sword Handel tightly and squeeze my fist in my pocket. You can do this freed. I think to myself.

"I'm glad you got back ok..." She says her face becoming slightly red. I bite the inside of my cheek.

"Thank you, if you'll excuse me." I say and nod my head at her. I walk to an empty back room. I sigh deeply and hit my head against the wall.

"Damnit!" I say to myself. I sink to the ground and sit.

"This is going to be harder than I thought." I mumble to myself.
