(Freed POV)
I woke up the next morning in my room. The shades are down and I wake groggy. I change and walk into my living room. The sun had been up for a few hours now. The light was strong. I make a cup of strong tea and drink it.
My mind was still only on her. I put my dish away. I sigh, stretch, and walk out the door. Today was the day I put my plan into place. I act cold, and I Won't think of her as much. I run my hand through my hair, a few strands immediately fall back onto my face.
My apartment is in the middle of the city. The buildings are close together with not much room between them. The spaces between the homes was enough to fit a fat cat, or a small dog.
As I walk down the streets the shadows were long, and changing. Each step I took almost echoed in my thoughts, while I ignore the quiet morning busyness of people. Although the sun was high it was still quite early and the children weren't out yet. The drowsy workers were walking to their shops, no one talking, smiling, or interacting.
My commute was short but it felt like an eternity. The quiet gloomy steps of the people around me made me dread my own steps. Each one a step closer to potentially seeing her again. My heats skips a beat. Her eyes. Bu-bum. Her hair. Bu-bum. Her smile. Bu-bum. My heart beats quickly in my chest. A small rush of blood ran to my cheeks. I mumble a few choice words under my breath. I soon realize I'm at the doors of the guild. I. Take a deep breath. And I push open the doors thinking. Act cold.
