Stuck in Runes

Chapter 10

(Sophia POV)
He was looking at me. I felt my blush grow. he made me feel so shy and helpless.
"Where did you learn your rune magic?" I asked trying to not feel so awkward.
"Oh, I had a sensi, he taught me." he said and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Oh cool, I never really met many people, all I knew was the forest until about 5 years ago." I smiled.
"What happened then if I may inquire?" He asked. I felt the blood drain from my face.
"Nothing important... Umm..." I froze, I didn't know what to say.
"It's quite alright." He said. "Would you care to join me for some tea?" He said blushing profusely.
"Umm.. Sure.." I matched his blushing cheeks and smiled at him. We walked over to the bar and he asked for 2 teas from Mira and I started to pull out my wallet.
"No my treat I insist." freed said handing Mira money.
"Umm... O-ok" I felt shyer now, even though people were around. I blew on the hot cup of tea. "Thank you" I smile over the cup and take a sip.
"N-no problem..." He said, I think in caught him off guard. I wonder why he was talking to me...
"So what made you join Fairytail?" I asked him, he calmly set him glass gown and thought for a moment.
"Well, my father had joined this guild, and after he... Passed... I wanted to join in his place. Although he was never particularly strong or special, I always idolized him. So when he joined here I knew it was one of a kind." He smiled a sad smile.
"I'm so sorry your father passed." I said.
"It's ok, he was very old and passed peacefull." He smiled.
"Pardon me miss" I heard a low voice say and a hand touch my sholder, a shiver went up my spine.
"Yes?" I turned to see the man with cat ears I say earlier.
"May I just say you are truly radiant, your eyes are like the bluest of seas and your skin the most expensive porcelain" He said, my face turn crimson.
"I... Umm..." I didn't know what to say. I looked at Freed who looked mad.
"Leo please don't bother her." he said I smiled at him.
"But beautiful women should, be fawned over." He said and put his hands on my shoulders another shiver went up my spine.
"LEO! Don't flirt with other women!" I heard a woman say. I turn and see the fox woman whom he was hugging earlier.
"I'm sorry miss, he is a nuisance!" The women said, grabbing and pulling on his ear. They started to argue and I looked at Freed who chuckled a shrugged. I felt a rustle come from my bag and Mina hopped out. She used her paw to rub her snout squeaked loudly and ran to a table.
"Mina wait." I hopped off the bar stool fallowed closely by freed.
"Got you." Freed grabbed her. "You need to not run away little one." he gently pet her head. she looked at him but then curled up in his hands and went back to sleep.
"Oh gosh I'm sorry! I can take her" I say.
"No, it's quite alright." He said petting her in his arms. We walk back over to the bar and I pick up our teas.
"Come on you can come sit with my friends and I." He said still folding Mina. I nod and fallow him to a table where a man and a woman sat.
"Bickslow, Evergreen, this is Sophia. Sophia this is Bickslow and Evergreen." Freed says.
"Nice to meet you." I set the teas down and bow.
"Ditto, and call me Ever." The woman with glasses says.
"What's up, bruh?" The man in armor says and sticks out his toung.
I sit next to freed.
"So freed, how did you make such a pretty freind?" Bickslow said. I blushed, as did freed.
"Master asked that I help her set a rune for the violin she obtained. I then helped her catch her pet." He said petting mina.
"That is SO cute!" Ever squealed looking at mina. "Can I hold her." She asked looking at freed.
"Ask Sophia, it's not my pet." Freed said smiling at me.
"You can if she will let go of freed, she seems pretty happy right thier." I giggled, I tuned to freed and mina.
"Mina will you please go sit with ever?" I asked the small mink, she blinked and got um stretching. she warbled over and sat on Ever's lap and went back to sleep.
"AAAAwww!" Ever sighed and pet Mina.
"So is it true?" Bickslow said.
"Is what true?" I asked him blinking.
"Are you really a dragon slayer?" He said.
"Oh..." I blushed. "um ya... my mother was Artuna, she is the dragon of wind..." I say taking a sip of tea.
"Ar Tuna? Is she some kind of pirate fish?" He asked scratching his head.
"No!" I yelled. I was embarrassed.
"Please ignore him..." ever said. "he's and idiot".
I giggled. and herd someone walk up and turn around it was Laxus...when he looked up and saw me he turned around and went to another table.
Freed tuned to me. "He really isn't a bad guy..." He looked at me. "He is just very protective of me..." he said scratching his neck embarised.
"Oh..." I say looking at Laxus, sitting at the other table. I get up at walk over to him.
"What do you want, I already said sorry." he said not looking up from the table.
"I wanted to know why you were sitting all alone..." I say, no sure what to do. he looked at me.
"Why do you care?" He said looking back at the table.
"Because, you punishing yourself for nothing... you said sorry and I forgive you. stop feeling so bad" I smiled at him.
