Chapter 55

Freed POV

As I step, following my muscle memory, I watch her. Her small form pulled against mine. My face feels like fire.

She watches my feet following along. She was doing very well, gliding along, I check to see if she just decided to float, but she is stepping. She bites at her lip in frustration, trying to follow my movements.

Damn she is cute...

As the song hums to an end she peers up at me.
"Did I do ok?"

"You did beautifully, your a natural." I smile letting go of her waist using her hand to spin her. She giggles and follows along, letting me lead her into a dip.

"Well I'm sure if helps that I have a fantastic teacher." She smiles. I blush and we walk back of to the bench.

"I like your dress by the way, I'm assume Mira chose it?" I ask knowingly.

"Ya!" She giggles. "But I like it, it's so pretty when I spin!" She smiles hopping up and twirling can the skirt gracefully fluttering around her.

"Well you look beautiful." I smile at her. She pauses looks at me, her face probably as red as mine.

"Th-thank you..." she stammers. "You don't clean up to bad ether." She teases. I smile.

"Well I did try to match you with my tie." I say pulling it from my neck pulling it next to her to see if I got close.

"Well you were spot on, I don't know how you got that to color match without having the dress." She praises.

"Seems so, lucky guess" I laugh. It was a guess. But I'm more confused she didn't mention about my trying to match. In all honesty I didn't try to at first, but as I was leaving I notice I had subconsciously.

The party drags on for a few more hours, many people getting hammered drunk. As time went on I also danced with Sophia more, slow song after slow song, she really was a natural at waltzing and she was doing wonderfully.

"It's almost midnight!" I yawn looking at the clock.

"Really?! I wonder if the stars are better outside!" She smiles looking up. The lights we have out for the party Making it hard to see much.

"I know a great place to look at them." I offer, she grins, taking my hand.

"Let's go then!!!" She giggles. I nod and we leave the guild, Mira had already left taking Sophia's pet with her so she could get away from the noise, so it was just the two of us.

We walk through the city, going to the country side, into a little park. I lead her to a little bridge that had been built over a river. I had covered her eyes a few minutes before we got here so I can surprise her, I let my hands drop away from her eyes and she looks up.

"Woooow....." she breaths. The stars are very clear from out here. And I set up a rune, those inside don't see fog, it's like it's invisible, making everything even more clear.

"It's beautiful!" She smiles. I look down from the sky to her. Her hands are tightly clasped together over the rock of the necklace, a blissful smile sits on her face. Her eyes sparkle reflecting the light of the stars.

My heart feels like it's going to break out of my chest.

"I need to tell you something..." I sigh looking at the water flowing slowly below the bridge.

"What do you mean?" Sophia asks her eyes dropping from the sky, to look at me, puzzled.
I stare at our reflections in the water. The universe of stars behind us up in the sky.

"I need to tell you..." I start, swallowing. She cocks her head ever so slightly.

"I..." I sigh. "I have your anklet still.. you... you left it in my coat..." I say not able to say the truth.

"Oh! Thank you! It's ok though.... here." She smiles. I take the jewelry from my pocket putting it in her hand.

She unclips the clasp, putting it on something she pulls out of her bag.

"You gave me this necklace, I want you to have this." She smiles. She had hooked the string of beads to a leather rectangle. "It's a bookmark... I know how much you read... I mean you don't have to take it I just thought..." she blushes mumbling through her words.

"It's perfect." I smile taking it into my hands.

"Really? You like it?" She asks joy in her eyes.

"Yes! I will use it all the time." I smile. She giggles jumping up to hug me. I laugh swinging her around in a circle.

"Freed I have to tell you something too..." she says after we stop, her face red.

"I um... Mira said..." she fumbles. "She wants us.... to uh...." she blushes even more now.

"I know." I say bluntly. She looks at me confused.

"This isn't the first time?" She asks.

"No, well, yes and no. For me it is. But she dose it for many members of the guild." I explain.

"Why not for you yet...?" She asks shyly.

"I don't know... but I do know one thing..." I say looking at my feet.

"And whats that?" She asks a smile greeting her lips.

"I like you a lot..." I say my eyes never leaving the ground.

"I like you too silly! I mean you saved my life." She laughs nervously.

"No.. not like..." I sigh walking over to a bench and sitting down.

"I... I...I don't understand..." she stammers sitting next to me.

"I can't stop needing you... your all that I can think about! Everything you do drives me crazy! All I want to do is keep you safe forever and never let you get hurt! I don't know what else to say... But you have become so much to me..." I growl angry at myself. She gasps lightly and I slap my hand over my mouth, jumping up, not exactly wanting to say that much.

"You... I mean... I... Really...?" She looks up at me, the stars making her eyes sparkle again. I swallow hard and nod slightly.

"I..." she blushes. She stands rapping her arms around me. "yes..." she mumbles into my chest.

"Y-yes? Like you like me as well... or...?" I stammer shocked. She nods into my chest. My face gets hotter than its ever men before.
She pulls away and looks up at me.

"Then... May I..."  I say my hand going to her cheek, my thumb pulling across her lower lip. She blushes, giving one small nod. My free hand raps behind her neck my fingers burying into her hair.

I lean down using my hand to pull her to my lips. I pause just before kissing her feeling her soft breath on my lips, I smile, closing the distance. Her lips were soft and warm.Her arms rap around my neck, pulling me closer. I pull away looking at her, her face red and her lips now very pink and slightly swollen.

I smile leaning down again giving her one more peck.

Iv never felt so happy...

((It finally happened, you can go be happy now, the story will of course keep going as the stumble awkwardly through relationship things and trying to find the creepy tree guy. But like the big thing happened, gg lil beans.
