Chapter 28

(Freed POV)

I feel my cheeks light up faster Natsu when he's pissed. The Madam puts the trays down. The rice looked scrumptious as always. She lays down chopsticks and waters.

"Enjoy." He says her sweet face Rosie and joyful.

"These look amazing!" Sophia excitedly claps her hands together. I nod, a soft smile on my face. She starts eating her face lightning up with each bite.

"THIS IS DELICIOUS!" She smiles holding her hand over her mouth full of food. A chuckle erupts from my throat.

"I wouldn't let you eat something bad now would I?" A say taking a bite of my own, just as good as I remember. But different now that I'm eating with her.

I watch her happily enjoy her food as I eat mine. She looked adorable. So happy, elated even for something as little as some good food. Her eyes dance every time she looks up at me. I want you to be this happy all the time.

CRASH!

My chair lays in the floor on its back, I had stood up too quickly, shoving it back. She stops eating looking at me confused and concerned.
I can't think like that. She has to get out of my head.

"I need some fresh air... I'll be back in a moment. " I say quickly walking out before she has a chance to respond. I step outside of the cafe the streets a little less busy than before, those getting off the train had found where they were going.

Air fills my lungs as I take a long slow breath. Why dose she have to do this to me? I don't understand. As much as I push away she pulls me back. Uh!

"Why am I so stupid!" He growl slapping my forehead with my palm.

"Why are you stupid mister?" A little girl asks staring up at me, her eyes a soft green. My face gets pink embarrassed I had said something like that in front of this child.

"I... I'm just having some trouble with my feelings dear." A say softly my back leaning against the wall I slid to the ground taking a seat.

"Oh..." she goes silent for a moment. "Here!" She smiles holding out her little fist. When I put my hand under hers she drops a pebble into my hand.

"I like this rock! Maybe it can help you!" She smiles, she looked to be about 5 or so. A soft smile appears across my lips. She was so blunt. And so peaceful. Nothing was wrong she just told the truth... maybe I should be honest with my emotions... maybe that could help me... I don't know. I put the rock in my pocket.

"Here," I smile handing her a coin, she could get a pice of candy or something with it. "Get yourself a treat." I smile. Her eyes light up. "Thank you mister!" She giggles running off. I stand up dusting the dirt of my back.

I take one more deep breath and go back into the shop where I nearly nock Sophia over entering.

"I was just coming to see if your okay..." she looks up at me her eyes full of worry.

"I'm fine, don't worry about it. Come on I still have to eat." I smile softly.

She nods firmly and we go back to owe table.
