Stuck in Runes

Chapter 15

(Freed POV)
We walk back to the guild, it was still raining. The rain soaked us to the bone. Casting the rain blocking rune while moving was difficult and the battle has drained my energy more than I thought it would have, so I couldn't not save us from the rain. We had finished the job much more quickly than we had imagined prior.

As we walk home listening to the hush of the rain, and the squish of our shoes in the mud, I thought of her. I hoped she was still their...  But what would I say to her? Hello, I mean in no way to be rude, but are you an angel? Or what about? I haven't stopped thinking about you sense you rammed into me a mock 10. I mumble to my self. Sense when has talking to females been a problem? In the past I have always been able to speak with them just fine! They are just like males. We are equal! But this one woman, she makes me stutter and loose my speech! I am hardly able to not blush profusely when in her presents!

I wish I could ask laxus but he would just tell her for me, and Bixslow... The entire Town would know how I feel, and more than likely they would be told by him we are dating. I press my for finger and thumb in my forehand, just thinking about it gives me a migraine.

A crack of lighting draws my attention back to the real world as someone shoves me down in the mud.

"What was that for Laxus?!" I yell then realize a large burnt tree laying where I once stood.

"Well... Your welcome" he said in a snide tone.

"Sorry. Thank you very much. I didn't even see it coming" I say standing up the mud now caked my clothes. He nodded not saying anything more.

"We need to get out of this rain it's not safe." I say. We run through the woods, find a cave and go in. We start a fire and eat some of the food we saved from our last meal. The mud had stiffed on my clothes.

I take off my jacket and try to get the dirt off. After much protest from Ever I walk further back in the cave because I was "getting her dirty".

I here foot steps approach me even though I thought the others had gone to sleep. It was Laxus.

"Yes?" I ask still trying to scratch mud off my jacket.

"What were you thinking about? Before I pushed you out of the way? The past few days you have changed something happened and I can't figure out what." He said sitting down next to me his back on the wall of the cave. I sigh and set down my coat and turn to face him. A worried expression covered his face I sighed again. The last time I saw that face was when we were young. I had been badly hurt in a battle and blacked out. He thought I was going to die.

"I am quite ok Laxus" I say smiling.

"No! You have changed. I'm don't sure why or if I like it or not. I need to know, you shot down the one lead I had. That girl." He said pain and anger lacing his voice. I felt my face get hot, hoping the cave was dark enough to hide it I look at the cave wall across from us.

"Laxus. I would tell you what happened. Really. But I don't know what happened my self. I can't stop thinking about her. My palms get sweaty and my heart races when I'm around her. I can't form proper words, and my grammar is incorrect. I when she smiles, I feel like I need to get her anything she wants or desires. She is perfect and I can't figure out why!" I say as anger, fear, confusion, and utter pain grow inside me. I have never spoke my personal feeling like that to any one, barely even myself. My eyes well up and I use my hand to cover my face so utterly ashamed I can hardly stand it.

"Freed" Laxus says his voice low and quite.

"That's called love..." He says quietly.

Sorry I'm weird ^^^ any who, ahh this chapter makes me sooooooo happy. Literally this was one to the moments that I first wanted to wright when I started writing this story. I hope you guys like it as much as I do!
