I was confused. What did King Laurent mean?

Jasmine: "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I didn't quite catch that. What do you mean by let's compromise? I don't really know what I can offer you King Laurent."

I truly was baffled. He played with his small goatee, seemingly lost in thought. King Larry also seemed confused. I guess his twin didn't inform him of this either. I gave him a little smile and King Larry's upper lip lifted in a sneer. I don't know why he didn't like me and it was getting to me just a little bit. But I would never admit that. I would just keep on giving what he gave me.

King Laurent: "Here's what I propose miss Jasmine. You were on the plane my Queen Jessica had been on. We found the plane but no one else. If you survived then it's a possibility the Jessica did as well. You will stay here as my Princess and you will guide us through where you said you woke up in the forest. You will be treated as the Princess and will get whatever you desire in return for your help."
He seemed quite pleased with himself. But I was confused. What did he mean? How would I be able to help him more than his very own militia looking for the Queen? Something didn't feel right.

Jasmine: "All I desire your Majesty, is a boat to London." I rested my chin in my palm. I stifled a yawn, the days events starting to take their toll.

King Laurent: "I will grant you your boat to London, Miss Jasmine. Only after the Queen is found."

Jasmine: "What?!" I stood up suddenly, the decorative pillow on the couch flying from the motion.

Jasmine: "That is unreasonable! What if the Queen is never found?! What if God forbids, she is found dead? Will I be able to leave? Or will I be held here while you pursue a wild goose chase?" Panic was rising in my soul. I could be stuck here forever if Queen Jessica was never located. Selena and Ramon's faces appeared in my mind. I stopped a soft whimper from escaping. I just wanted to know if they were okay. King Laurent stood up, the chair slightly squeaking on the tiled floor. He stood before me, his towering height quite imposing.

King Laurent: "Never again will you call my searching for my wife a wild goose chase. You may never have known love but that doesn't apply to the rest of us. You have no choice in the matter. I was being generous, at least attempting to give you a way to agree to it on your own. But since I see you're determined to be headstrong, I have no choice but to be firm. You will stay here and help us find my Queen. There will be no discussion."  King Laurent was unmoving. I sighed, realizing that he was my equal in stubbornness. So I will never get to go to London. I will never get to know about Ramon and Selena. But then something hit me. I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it before.

Jasmine: "Forgive me if I'm wrong King Laurent but something tells me you've never known real love either. Real lust perhaps but never real love." For the first time, I heard a approving click of the tongue from King Larry. Ah so I was right. Before King Laurent could rebut my sentence, I added on with haste.

Jasmine: "Very well, I will stay and help you look for Queen Jessica even though I still don't know what I can do. On one condition, you can keep your jewelry and clothes, I just want a way to get in touch with my siblings in Florida. If you can provide that, I will stay as your Princess." The surprise that lit across both Kings faces kind of saddened me a bit. I suppose they weren't used to someone asking for so little.

King Laurent: "That is all? You want nothing else?"

Jasmine: "No Your Majesty. Just a chance to speak with them and I will be in your debt." King Larry held suspicion in his eyes while King Laurent was debating over my conditions.

King Laurent: "Very well miss Jasmine, I will ponder on this and in the morning we will talk more. I will escort you to your room." I was actually mildly surprised by this. I did not think he would personally escort me. I figured he'd be like King Larry and have a guard take me. King Laurent went to his twin and they shared a childish yet overwhelmingly adorable handshake to which at the end they said goodnight. I told King Larry goodnight and he just gave me a head nod. Ugh, I will get this man to at least like me a little bit.

King Laurent opened the door, waiting for me to go ahead of him. As I did so, he placed his hand on my back. It was a simple gesture, one that many men did when waiting for their lady company to pass through a door. Even though it was simple, it was completely electrifying to me. It sent a delicious wave of shivers through my body that I ignored with every part of me. If King Laurent had felt anything, he didn't show it.

We walked in silence, my eyes soaking in the castle. I couldn't get over how beautiful it was. I wanted to question King Laurent about it but I felt like he would just ignore me anyways. I yawned once again, ready to fall out. King Laurent stopped moving in front of another set of double doors.

King Laurent: "This will be your room for your stay here. My room is right next to it, connected by the bathrooms." I was getting ready to say okay until a detail reemerged in my memory.

Jasmine: "I'm sorry, you said connecting bathrooms? As in we will share one?" He smiled, his teeth showing a little.

King Laurent: "Does that bother you Miss Jasmine? Shy are we?"

Jasmine: "No,I just figured a King would have his own personal showers." I mumbled.

King Laurent: "I do, I just prefer using the one you'll be using."
I gave up, this man was to stubborn and I was exhausted . He opened the doors for me, sensing my exhaustion. I stepped forward and fell in love.

It was sparse but beautiful

It was sparse but beautiful. I didn't need much anyways. My book bag was sitting on the gorgeous bed and I was getting ready to run and lay down, let the sleep overtake me. King Laurent softly took a curl of mine in between his fingers, twirling it.

King Laurent: "Goodnight Princesse." He said it gently with a hint of seduction. My face flushed red and I sputtered out a embarrassed goodnight back to him. He laughed as he left my hair go and walked out the room. God, how was I going to survive this?
