Jasmine
It was almost ten pm by the time Larry and I made our way back to the castle from Lylahs, where I had throughly enjoyed myself and I adored Larry's little fluff ball of a daughter. Liloh was everything I yearned for in a child and just watching their little family interact warmed my heart to no end. A frown pulled at my lips as I thought about how much I wanted that. I wanted children, I wanted a man who would love me despite all my flaws, I wanted someone who was all mine and I was all his with a belly full of his children.
But I felt like it would never happen with King Laurent. Sure he talked a good game but it only mattered about the end results. Would he truly get rid of Candice and be with me? Or would he fail at his own Court Game and let me go? Larry and I were walking to Lidia's room when I saw King Laurent ambling through the hallways, confusion in all his features and knitting his eyebrows down.
King Larry: "What's wrong my brother?" Laurent drug his gaze from the floor to stare at us and
slanted his head to the side.King Laurent: "I been hearing voices in my head, small voices asking me questions. Weird thing is, I've been answering them. I need to rest, I think the day has taken its toll. Goodnight my twin. Goodnight Jasmine, will you accompany me for a walk in the gardens tomorrow?" , he was so confused which was evident in his tone and Larry snickered at him. I felt a little anxious about being alone in the gardens with King Laurent. It's like when we were there, life was happy, fulfilling and I get caught in the moment. I didn't want that to happen yet.
Jasmine: "Will Mazzi be coming tomorrow?" His jaw tightened until a just barely noticeable tick appeared.
King Laurent: "Yes, your boy toy will be here in the morning Jasmine." I put on a bright smile which his eyes darkened to.
Jasmine: "Then he and I will love to join you in the gardens. Goodnight King Laurent." King Larry tried to suppress his snort but failed miserably as I beamed at King Laurent whose glare could kill. Larry and I continued our walk to his moms room, utterly ignoring the now seething King.
We stepped into Lidia's room a few moments later to see the older woman laying on her bed reading a book, her long black locks pulled up in a high ponytail. She looked up from the time in her hand and blessed us with a gentle motherly smile.
Lidia: "Ah my children, come and sit with me. I know today has been hard on you both." Larry made his way to his mother and just laid at her side as her arm held him to her like a little babe. The sight would've been funny since Larry was so much bigger than Lidia but the motherly feeling from the sight made it more endearing than funny. Lidia looked up at me and her eyebrow rose.
Lidia: "Come Jasmine, I know you been through it today as well. Let me speak with you dear." Water welled up in my eyes and I went to lay besides her and Larry. I buried my face in her shirt and tried not to cry. She stroked Larry and mine hair, just her aura calming our disturbed hearts. She softly lifted my face up by my chin to look at her.
Lidia: " I had wanted to speak with you to see how your mindset was. I was hoping to convince you to speak with your family. I know you and your mother aren't on the best terms but you said that you loved your siblings. Have you even had any contact with them?" I shook my head no and the tears did fall. I was scared of seeing them again, frightened that they would reject and disown me.
Lidia: "Jasmine, you saw for yourself how short life can be love. Talk to them, at least let them know that you are okay. When you're ready, let me know and I will set everything up okay?" I nodded my head in agreement then hung my head down, my eyes now downcast.
