Jasmine
[Day 1, October 23rd]

Crashed

I ran towards the entrance of the Miami International Airport, rushing since I was late. I dodged and weaved through the multiple people. I never been in a airport before so it was so overwhelming. So many people, everywhere I glanced, there were family reunions or goodbyes. I ran, the only baggage I had with me was my book bag.

Jasmine: "damnit, where is it?"  I panicked as I couldn't find my flight terminal. I stopped, catching my breath and asked a woman passing by with her brown shih tzu if she knew where terminal 21 was. She pointed in the direction to my left and told me just go straight down. I thanked her and ran off, my black curls flying behind me.

Jasmine: "phew, I made it. Geez this is so ridiculous. How does everyone not get lost in these damn places" I muttered to myself, a little put off by everything. The security quickly passed me through seeing as how my book bag only carried two books, a Nintendo 3ds, and a few outfits. The security guard gave me a strange look, like why would I be taking the flight to London with such little belongings. I rolled my eyes and hurried into the line, sighing as I saw how many people were also taking this flight. I handed the attendant my coach class ticket and she directed me towards the back. As I walked past the First Class section, I saw a VIP sign up.

I turned my head as I continued walking and saw a glimpse of a gorgeous woman. Her hair was dark honey curls and her skin was the smoothest caramel color I ever seen. She wore a long sleeved rich gown of reds, golds, and greys that fell to her feet. The sleeves were adorned with what seemed like diamonds and rubies. Her hazel eyes were almond shaped and her lips were plump and seemed naturally red. I felt a air of royalty about her and gawked for a second. When her gaze came upon me, I was caught off guard by her. Her eyes held a sharpness that felt like she pierced my soul. A small smile lifted her lips and from what I could tell, her teeth were pearly white.

Jasmine: "what a gorgeous creature"  I thought to myself, and heard someone say behind me to hurry up. I snapped out of the daze that the goddess like woman had me in and hurried along to my seat. I had managed to get a window seat which is what I hoped I would. As the everyone was getting settled into their seats and the pilot telling everyone that we'd be taking off in a few moments, I put my all black Dre Beats on and played my Adele playlist.

As Million Years Ago started playing, my mind drifted off to what took place just yesterday.

"I just want to be free. Why can't you understand Mom? I been stuck in this cycle of misery and depression for to long. I'm not happy here." I pleaded with my mother to understand. I knew she was sick and I stayed with her until my younger siblings Selena and Ramon were of a age that they could help her instead. Now that Ramon was 21 and Selena 18, I told my mom that I was going to move out.

A hand came across my face and a slap rang out, causing me to momentarily lose my hearing,
"I already told you NO. I won't repeat myself, you will stay here and help out. What if something happens huh? I bet you want me to die, you ungrateful bitch!" My moms voice boomed with her anger. I was the only one she was like this with. Ramon and Selena were treated like a king and queen while I was treated like a pauper. Tears stung my eyes and I just held my face.

"Now get your ass in the room and don't you fucking come out until I say it's okay!"  I dashed towards my room, bypassing my brother and sister and their faces of sympathy. They loved me and they wanted to help me but I already told them not to get involved. I couldn't risk my mom snapping on one of them and hurting them. I flopped on my bed and buried my face in my pillows, crying until my face hurt even more. After an hour, I fell asleep.

I woke up to the sounds of yelling. My mother and her boyfriend were going at it again. I sighed, so tired of the atmosphere of this place. I got up and went to my closet, searching inside a small opening in the wall behind the dresses I never wore. I grabbed a piece of paper then walked back to my bed. I looked at the ticket, one way to London. I would escape this hell hole no matter what.

I sighed again, praying that my decision wouldn't cause my mother to take it out on my siblings. The plane took off and there was no turning back now. I let myself fall asleep listening to Adele's mellow tone in Hello.

*three hours later*

I was wrecked out my sleep by turbulence and heavy thunder outside the plane. The noise was deafening this high up. The plane was rocking and despite never having been on one before, I was pretty sure that was not suppose to happen and I heard everyone around me asking what was going on.

Pilot: "Okay everyone just relax. It's just a storm and slight turbulence. Just go about what you were doing" The pilot said over the P.A system. But I could see the attendants freaking out by the bathrooms. One looked like she was on the verge of crying. I spotted a little girl looking my way, her purple lollipop eyes huge on her small face. She look petrified and I smiled at her, hoping to ease the pain on that innocent face.

All of sudden, I was yanked from my seat, my head hit the ceiling. I saw the little girl fall out the door of the plane as it opened, her mouth opened in a scream. I cried out for her as the seatbelt pulled my body back. Bodies were flying everywhere as the plane took a nosedive straight down. A burly man hit me as he went out the window and my head swam. Then everything went black.
