( King Laurent )
( Day 38 )

I woke up early, eager to be on my way back to the castle. I was supposed to be in town all day but last nights events killed any extra time Candice would've had with me. Besides, I needed to talk to my mother to get the reports on everything that was happening. She was the only person who wouldn't be suspicious looking and no one dared to question the former Queen. I walked out into the lobby of the hotel and fought with myself of whether I should wait for Candice or not.

I decided not to. I left with my personal guards in tow and to go back to the castle.

It was early, hardly noon when I got back and I swore I saw someone who resembled Melissa walking in the distance. I shrugged it off and entered the castle gates. As I walked, every servant I passed bowed and said welcome back. I gave a nod of approval each time and made my way to my mothers room. I just entered, I felt no need to knock since my mother always seemed to know when any of her children were around. I saw my mother sitting in front of the vanity brushing her long locks and noticed she was alone.

King Laurent: "Where's Liara?" My mother looked up from her brushing for a split second then returned to it.

Lidia: "With my future daughter in law, whose side she hasn't left since you decided to play in dirt." I could hear my own eye roll at her words. I went over to her bed and laid across it, staring up at the rich gold colored canopy.

King Laurent: "So what do you think maman? Noticed anything out of the ordinary?"

Lidia: "Besides the fact that you're back way earlier than you said you would be. Let me guess, Candice forgot her place and acted out?" I rolled over to lay on my side, staring at my mom. I hated and loved that she seemed to know everything. It was annoying but had its benefits.

King Laurent: "She decided to broadcast our business out loud in front of some of the people and I didn't take it well. I know I said I liked my woman with a backbone and attitude, but I don't like them disrespectful."
My mom began to hum and got up, finished with brushing her hair. She came and sat next to where I laid and played with my twists, something that used to comfort me as a child.

Lidia: "From what I can tell, Jasmine and Liara are becoming inseparable. Jasmine is lonely since everyone seems to be keeping their distance from her for some reason. The only ones who are even truly speaking with her are Liara, the guard Curtis, and Sophia, in whose case she's writing. Melissa went to speak with them this morning then left the castle with her suitcase. I doubt Larry knows about that since he hasn't left his room and neither has the Kyanna girl. She's been in Larrys room day and night, I don't know exactly what's wrong with her but she's seems quite sickly. When I walk the gardens, I hear whispers between servants. Your favorite little victim player seems to have been extremely cruel to them and they speak of your Princess being blamed for things she's not done. I think it's time you have a talk with Jasmine, Laurent. That girl is harboring some deep set pain and a secret she isn't telling. Something has her shook and it's driving me insane that i can't seem to find out what. I hoped Liara would find out and tell me but her growing fondness for her is keeping her mouth shut. So only you can find out my son." My mothers report took my mind back on the very woman I yearned to see and I was positive that if Liara was hanging with her, then she knew I had been in town with Candice. I sighed and got up off the bed.

King Laurent: "Thanks mom, I'll see you later yes?" She shook her head no and I rose my eyebrow at her.

Lidia: "I'm leaving today since I have some projects to get done and Snow needs to be taken to the vet. So I plan on being gone by nightfall. I'm not sure if Liara will be joining me. I'm doubting it." Her laugh reflected my mothers inner joy, she was happy for my sister finding a friend. I gave her a kiss on her cheek.
