Chapter Thirty-Eight"I'm not going to my Senior Prom. Disney theme, really? I can imagine the theme of our Prom after five years." Cass grunted, as she observed me twirling around in my prom dress.
"Aww, come on. Don't be a bore. I'm sure you'll go to the prom with Derek by your side." I said, throwing a teasing wink at her. Her cheeks turned a light shade of red, upon hearing the mention of Derek (Emily's younger brother), her best friend and the guy she is crushing on.
"Not if it's a freaking Disney themed prom. I mean, you guys are what, eighteen year olds? And you're gonna dress up as a Disney characters. How mature and creative." She said with a sardonic smile and clapped her hand.
Rolling my eyes at her, I asked her to pull the zip of my dress down and stripped down to my undergarments. I pulled my oversized sweatshirt from under the blankets and wore it, following my loose pants. Tying my greasy hair up in a bun, I settled down on my bed, next to Cass whilst I rested my head on her shoulder.
"Hey, Cass." I muttered. She hummed in response, asking me to continue. "Tonight will be good, right?" I asked.
"I guess. Why are you asking this all of a sudden?" Cass asked bewilderingly.
"I don't know. Just an intuition." I said with a shrug. I continued humming to the tune of 'Same Old Love'.
"You're going to the prom with your boyfriend who you are supposedly in love with albeit he's an asswipe." She said. I narrowed my eyes at her but didn't respond. "What else can you ask for? Course it would be great and sappy for you." She said.
"Yeah, I think you're right." I said thoughtfully, a small yet exciting grin forming on my face.
"But the Disney theme can surely turn out to be poopy." She chimed, sticking her tongue out in disgust.
I let out a laugh and kissed her cheek, "You really hate Disney, don't you?"
"Very much." She shuddered.

"Sweetie, it's almost six." I heard mom's faint voice. I groggily opened my eyes. Mom was smiling at me as she patted my head lovingly. I casted her a lazy grin and stretched my hands, letting out a yawn in the process.
The worst part about waking up is waking up.
"When did I fall asleep?" I asked, as I rubbed my eyes.
"While you and Cass were having your movie date." Mom said. "I have made some pasta. I'll reheat and get it for you. You need to have your meds too, honey." Mom said.
I nodded my head in understanding. "Where is Cass right now?" I asked, since the house was awfully quiet.
"She's out with Derek and Ira. She should be back before you leave for tonight." Mom said. "By the way, the girls are already on their way. They should be here any moment." Mom continued.
"All right."
Mom kissed my forehead before exiting the room. I got out of my bed and decided to clean up before Maya and Emily arrive. Stripping down, I stood under the shower and drew my hand through my brown locks and closed my eyes in content as the warm water relaxed my muscles. I wrapped a towel around my body after I was done with my bath and stepped out.
"Oh, my god! Today is the prom day, can you believe it!?" Emily hollered excitedly, catching me off guard and causing me to let out a surprising yelp.
"Em, Maya, hi." I said. "Do you need to use the washroom?" I asked Emily. However, I highly doubt she heard what I said, because was grinning excitingly as she signaled me to walk over to her.
