So, the light beam effect is really cool for making your images look wavy, or like a flag.
These are the steps to create it:
Step 1.
Open up your image in Superimpose, with or without text, it doesn't matter.

Step 2.
Open up the image below as your foreground:

Step 3.
Go to Transform, then select one of the blending products.
It could be multiply - for dark covers - screen (don't recommend this) and overlay for a lighter effect (no pun intended).

Step 4.
Play around which the filters if you wish, then merge and save.
