99 | being the best graphic you!
***
Okay, this is where we get serious!
This book is coming to an end, and so I decided to make this last-but-one tip COUNT!
These are ALL the things I've learned so far and I think you'll need to grow!
#1) Thinking Outside of the Box
DONT YOU ROLL YOUR EYES AT ME!
This is a HUGE part, especially nowadays!
You need to be creative! Don't look at something and say, well they didn't do it, so I won't. How do you think all the biggest trends began? WITH SOMEONE DOING SOMETHING NEW!
I for one am really trying to incorporate inverted things, because i've seen quite a few people use it, and I really like the way it looks, so I've slowly begun to get more used to it, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
Also, I've started using making black and white graphics, and I've never really enjoyed that because...I LOVE COLOURS!
And I was at first very uncomfortable with using pictures in my textures, instead of brushes all the time.
Basically BE CREATIVE!
#2) Ask questions, questions AND EVEN MORE QUESTIONS
Okay this is such a big deal, and I know it may be really hard to do at times. I for one am not one to ask questions! But just recently I asked Evey-V on DA how she made her light textures, and...get this - She actually replied, and it helped me a lot more!
See?
Just asking a few questions won't help!
#3) Share, befriend, improve
There is no way that you will EVER get better if you don't first share your artwork. I started with Wattpad, now I've moved to DA, YouTube, even Tumblr!
Next, you HAVE to make friends! For me I just shared my work until I got supporters, who became fans, who developed into friends! And they inspired lots of my own work, and they also taught me quite a few things! But sometimes it's not that easy, and you will need to approach them. Sometimes it can be just as easy as: "wanna be friends?"
Other times you will have to be the supporter, the fan, and then the friend. Either way you should know friends are important! And all these things will help you to improve!
#4) Have No Fear
I'll admit, when I got Photoshop I was absolutely terrified of trying it, but look at me now! I can't live without it!
So the best thing you can do is to give it a shot!
What's the worse that could happen?
So now you now all my secrets!
And I shall send you off into the world of graphics!
