"We have a new student joining us!" she exclaimed excitedly.
The talking began to rise again as everyone wondered who it was. The door opened and in walked the new kid. He was quite tall and based on looks he wasn't that bad.
"Hello everyone, my name is Jung Jeong and I hope to make lots of friends here." He said with a large smile that reached ear to ear. How cheesy.
Soon after, all I could hear was gasps and little giggles behind me from the girls around the class. Typical. I rolled my eyes. And stared at the plain desk in front of me. I didn't care about this new guy.
"Welcome Jeong, you can sit next to Areum." Professor Kang said, gesturing him to the chair next to me.
My head shot up in shock. What?! Why me?
"Try not to murder this guy." Taehyung whispered as he tried to hold in his laughter.
This boy, he was really asking for it. I swear I could have had him dead with just my glares, but I restrained myself. Jeong sat down next to me.
"Hello, my name is Je-" he tried to speak but I cut him off.
"I know who you are, didn't you just introduce yourself like two minutes ago?" I asked clearly annoyed.
I don't know why I was annoyed, maybe because I was just sat next to someone I didn't know. He didn't say anything after that. I felt something heavy sit upon my chest. Guilt. It made me feel bad for what I had said. But why should I feel sorry for him?
The bell sounded, "That's all for now." Professor said and then silently left the room.
Chatter from the students arose. I sat and bit my lip thinking on whether I should apologise. Maybe I should. He was a new student after all, it wasn't his fault. But, I clearly was annoyed, he should have taken that in account.
"I'm sorry." He said with no emotions in his voice.
I looked up at him. His eyes were beautiful, they were a deep ocean blue that sparkled as the light from the Sun hit them. How did I not notice them? WAIT, WHAT! What was I thinking? Snap out of it Areum.
"You don't have to apologise, it wasn't your fault. I overreacted for no reason, I'm sorry."
I couldn't seem to take my eyes off his eyes. What is happening to me? Since when do I get lost in some random new guy's eyes? And did I just apologise? To a man?
He smiled widely, "I hope we can be friends now." He said.
I wanted to say no. I didn't want to be around him anymore. It was bad enough I was stuck next to him for the rest of the year. And it was bad enough that he made me apologise to him without even trying.
"Sure." Why did I say that?
A few more moments of silence passed.
"So why did you transfer to here?" Why did I ask that? What's going on?
"My parents divorced, so my mother bought me back to Korea." He looked kind of upset.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
I didn't care about him at all, but every word that left my mouth made him upset and that bugged me. He looked down for a while and then turned to me.
"Your dimples are quite pretty, I've noticed them when you were rushing through the corridor today morning." He said smiling at me.
My eyes widened. What is he doing?
"And the way your eyes widen every time you get shocked, it's cute." His smile grew bigger.
I may have felt sorry for him before, but now I was ready to dig up his grave. Is he trying to get into my bad books?
Taehyung let out a slight chuckle and quickly covered up his mouth when he realised what he had done wrong. My eyes told him to shut up and I mumbled a few not-so-nice words as he tried to keep in all the giggles that were attempting to escape his mouth.
Jeong chuckled, "What's wrong?" I frowned, was he mocking me?
"Nothing." He said shaking his head and still smiling to himself.
"Just tell..." I was cut off by what he said next.
"You look pretty even when you're angry."
I couldn't believe my ears. Is he trying to hit on me? I was going to explode at him.
"I wouldn't if I were you, she's a fiesty one." Taehyung cried, bursting into laughter, but it seemed to have annoyed Jeong.
"And who may you be?" He asked, things didn't look good from here.
"I'm Kim Taehyung." Taehyung's voice lost all cheerfulness and he leaned back in his chair.
"Well, Kim Taehyung maybe you should mind your own business." Jeong's tone became deep and his eyes narrowed down.
Taehyung gritted his teeth and clenched his fists underneath the desk.
"I have every right to speak, she's my best friend." He retorted with a louder voice.
I bit my lip nervously, what was happening? Both the boys looked like they were ready to throttle each other to death. Luckily the door opened and in walked Professor Kim, he slammed down his books causing everyone to jump in fright.
"Silence!" He yelled, the bellowing of his voice made all the students dead quiet. Jeong gave Taehyung another quick stare before turning round again. The boring math lesson had began and I never thought I would say this but I'm glad it did. God knows the things that could've happened if Taehyung and Jeong spent any more time arguing.
Hey guys, I thought I'd share some pictures of Taehyung, there are some of my favourite in each chapter, so I thought that you would like them. Chapters are slowly getting longer and again please excuse any spelling and grammar mistakes, I'm going over and over again to proof read. Keep on reading.
