Areum's point of view:I squinted my eyes, groaning internally at my phone buzzing non stop frantically. Who in the right mind would be calling at this time? I slumped up, trying to grab my phone from the desk, my eyes still half closed. "Hello?" I yawned, not bothering to check the caller ID of the person who ruined my sleep.
"Called it!" Taehyung yelled over the line with the faint sound of cars behind him.
I moaned, how can he be so jumpy this early? Heck, how can he even be awake and out so early? "What do you want?" I grumbled, annoyed over the fact that I knew he rang me to tell me something absolutely weird or absolutely unnecessary and was going to waste a good half hour talking about it.
"Is that anyway to talk to your boyfriend, hmm?" He said, I swear I could feel him smirking and that made me wanna pull my hand through the screen and smack some sense into the boy. That would show him what would happen if he woke me up in person instead.
"It is when he wakes me up this early." I scoffed. I rubbed my eyes, switching on the bed light so I wouldn't doze off to sleep again.
"Aww I'm hurt." He sighed, dramatically gasping and making soft wailing sounds.
"And I'm tired." I retorted. "What do you want Tae?" I whined. Silence grew over the line, I couldn't hear any shuffling either, and the sound of the roads in the background seemed slightly louder. "Tae?" I said, my voice firmer now. A little knot of fear began to form in my stomach. My body grew tense, and the beating of my heart got strangely stronger and faster. "Taehyung?" I called for him again.
"Gotcha!" He screamed again.
The mountain of shock in me flooded out and was replaced with annoyance again. "Are you kidding me?" I scolded him. "What's wrong with you. I thought something happened. Do you know how scared I am? My heart is racing!" I softly yelled.
"I have a solution for that." He popped. "Look outside." And with that he cut the call.
"But-" I let out a quiet grumble. Not only was he already giving me heart attacks this early in the morning but I would've still had a possible five more hours to sleep if he hadn't called me. I poked my head up from the window, searching for him to be at the side of the house, perched on the grass. But he wasn't. I scrolled through my phone and rang him again for him to instantly pick up. "Well... I'm looking outside. I don't see you." I said.
"I didn't say I was outside." He chuckled. "I said to look outside. Just because I said that doesn't mean I'm there." He replied as if he said the most obvious thing ever and I was the only fool who didn't understand.
"How does that make me feel better?" I muttered.
"It doesn't. I just wanted to see if you'd actually do it." He chirped, followed by whole hearted chuckle.
"Yah, listen here Kim Taehyung, " I snapped. "It's only..." I quickly glanced down at my phone to see the time. "5:03, and let me tell you there better be a good reason as to why I am awake dealing with your dumbass or so help me." I huffed, my voice slightly raising towards the end.
"Wow you're mad, you used my full name. I don't like it." He said more quietly. "Okay, open the door I'm outside." He added, bringing back his normal happy tone.
I grabbed my pillow, slamming my face into it as I screamed for a good minute. Not only did I have to leave the warmth of my bed, which was difficult to achieve because it's winter time, to open the door for the idiot downstairs, but I also had to sit in my by-then cold bed to reheat it. I hobbled downstairs, mumbling uncountable curse words as I made my way to do the door. I swear if he wasn't there I'm gonna loose it.
