Taehyung's point of view:
I turned away from Areum, and tears began to fall instantly. I rushed out, through the doors, heading downstairs to our classroom. I peaked inside, and saw the empty seats. I placed myself into my seat and closed my eyes. I couldn't tell Areum that I loved her. These notes, these small notes, were the only way I could, but she thought it was that stupid guy.
I felt a heavy pain in my heart, and more tears rolled down my cheeks. I heard footsteps and quickly wiped my face clean, I whipped out my phone and pretended to play on it. Seoyeon walked into the room. She had a giant smile plastered over her face as she clutched a little paper in her hand. I sunk into my chair and tried hiding behind the tiny screen in my hands.
"It worked Taehyung, it worked. Thank you so much!" She exclaimed in happiness.
A few weeks ago Seoyeon explained to me that she had liked Jimin for a long time and she wanted to confess to him. As a very close friend to Jimin, I already knew he felt the same way as her. So I set a plan for them and it apparently worked, judging from Seoyeon's expression. I gave a faint smile and looked back at the blank screen in front of me. She shoved the paper, which I assumed had Jimin's number on it, into her pocket and came over to me. She looked at me but I didn't turn my head.
"What's wrong Taehyung?" She asked concerned, I bit my lip to hold in the tears, my fingers clutched round my phone tighter, fighting back my heart break.
"Nothing." I said, my voice low to hide the pain that was killing me inside.
"Taehyung, I'm not going to ask again, what's wrong?" She demanded, snatching my phone away and waiting for my answer.
I sighed. I told her everything. I told her that I loved Areum and about the secret admirer notes that I was sending her. I told her about Areum and how she loved Jeong and thought the notes were from him.
She frowned and looked at me, seating herself at the next desk, "So what now?" She asked.
I clenched my phone in my fist and rested my head on the desk. I didn't know what to do.
"I'll figure something out." I said, smiling to reassure Seoyeon.
She hesitated but finally left the classroom. I closed my eyes, what should I do now? If I tell her that the notes aren't from Jeong she'll be heartbroken and if I tell her that they're from me it could ruin our friendship.
I got up and headed to the door but my path was blocked by a tall person. It was Jeong. I rolled my eyes in disgust, he pushed past me, grabbed his bag and headed towards the door again but I stopped him.
"Listen," I said in a stern voice.
His face became red with anger, "Get out my way!" He argued but I pushed him back.
"What do you want?" He frowned, with his arms across his chest.
"You like Areum?" My voice was a little quieter this time, just saying those words made me weak.
"What's it to you?" He retorted turning his head away.
"It's a lot to me actually. She likes you too, she told me." I tried keeping my voice strong.
His head witted around and his eyes lit up.
"But, I like her too." I said, my eyes scanned the room, hoping there was no one around in the corridors
Jeong's face instantly dropped. "I've been sending her secret admirer notes because she's still afraid. I thought I'd gain her trust first before I confessed but she loves you. I think if you tell her that the notes are from you she'll be more comfortable because she already assumes so."
His jaw hung open for a while before he finally spoke, "Is this some kind of joke?" He sounded annoyed.
I'm just trying to help him out even after he has been so rude to me and he thinks this a joke? I honestly wanted to beat him up but I resisted.
"Listen I'm just doing it for Areum, she already likes you. So what do you say?" I looked at him willingly.
He took his time but then finally agreed.
"Good." I said.
I scribbled down a copy of the notes I gave to Areum and handed it to him.
"This is what I've given her so far. Make sure you know them properly in case she ever asks. Don't mess it up." I said, avoiding eye contact with him.
I was helping him out but I still hated him and I was actually only doing it for Areum. He smiled, took the papers and began to head to the door. I grabbed him and swung him round, grabbing his collar.
"Just because I'm helping you out doesn't mean we are friends but we must put aside our differences for Areum. Oh, and if you hurt her I'll break you, do you understand?" I released him and he nodded.
"Thanks." He said, he gave a faint smile but I didn't reply to it.
I went back to my seat and grabbed my phone and pretended to play on it again. He glanced at me one more time, I had to give him a death stare so he would just leave already. I was alone again. I rested my head again on my desk and smiled to myself. I couldn't have Areum and that's ok, she's happy right?
