I woke up from the sound of my phone buzzing. I squinted my eyes, grabbing it from the my dresser. I grumbled reading his name across my screen. It was a text from Jeong:

Areum, we need to talk.

I texted him back immediately:

No we do not. We're done and that's the end.

I rolled my eyes putting it back on the dresser. I walked away heading towards the bathroom but stopped in my tracks, slowly turning around and glancing back over to the hectic buzzing from my phone. I swore under my breath, he wasn't going to leave me alone anytime soon. I skipped to my phone, rapidly vibrating non stop, my screen blocked up with messages from Jeong:

Please. I'm sorry. I was so stupid. It's all my fault. I made such a big mistake. Please Areum. I want you back.

I switched my phone off completely, I'll deal with him later. Or not. I grabbed my towel and headed towards the shower. I quickly slipped into my uniform and made my way downstairs, but something seemed off. I stopped midway down the stairs and took a long whiff of the air. I couldn't smell any breakfast cooking. Nor could I hear clatter coming from outside. Where did my mother go?

I walked into the kitchen to find my father taking out ingredients from the cabinets. He had his back turned, completely unaware of my presence, happily humming away. I cleared my throat, he turned around with a smile that soon dropped when he saw me. He jumped up, clearing his throat as if he wasn't just quietly humming away. He slowly shuffled towards the wall as if he could just disappear into it.

"Urm... Would like some breakfast?" He asked quietly.

I shook my head, "It's too late, I'm going in a bit." I said, walking towards the counter.

"Eomma would have already had breakfast ready by now." I mumbled loudly.

He quickly averted his eyes from me, pursing his lips, whilst slowly putting back all the ingredients he took out.

I went to grab a banana when he began to quietly spoke to me.

"Urm... Uh... Your mother.... She... Uh... Left you this." He said nervously, sticking his hand out with a note. I took it from him:

Gone out to buy a few things for the garden, the market will get more crowded later. I'll be back soon, just please behave.

~Eomma

I smiled a little, "Thanks." I said, looking at my father.

I gave him a small smile before leaving him to do whatever he was up to. I went to grab my bag and just then the doorbell rang. I skipped to the door, Taehyung stood there, his hand ruffling through his hair.

"Shall we go?" He said.

I smiled like an idiot at him, slinging my bag over my shoulder. I was glad to see him ready for school. I was glad to see him here.

"I'm going now Eomma!" I yelled, hopping outside.

I realised what I had said, mentally face palming myself, I spun around to find my father awkwardly at the door. I laughed nervously, awkwardly waving to him.

He waved back, "Have fun." He said.

I turned round and jogged up to Taehyung who was already walking ahead.

"I see things are getting better between the two of you." He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, I'm still not talking to him." I retorted, pressing my lips together to stop the smile forming on the ends to escape.
