Areum's point of view:

It was Friday and the end of the school day had finally arrived. I waited outside for Taehyung but he couldn't be seen anywhere. The skies grew darker which only meant one thing. Rain. I sighed and went back inside the school building, I plumped down at one of the staircases and watched the heavy rain rapidly fall. It had almost been an hour, I followed trails of raindrops on the window with my finger, still waiting for Taehyung but he still hadn't arrived. I became impatient and was thinking about just leaving on my own when a hand was placed on my shoulder.

I turned round to see Jeong standing behind me, "Hey," He said, smiling at me.

I turned my head round again. How could I face him after what happened today morning? Just the thought of it made me go red all over. How could I possibly look at him without smiling uncontrollably like an idiot?

"Hey." I replied, trying to hide behind my overly grown bangs to cover up my blushing cheeks.

He sat down beside me, "What are you doing here so late?" He asked, his knees touched mine, causing me to go more red.

"I'm waiting for Taehyung." I told him, moving my knees away from his to stop myself from being more embarrassed.

"Oh," His tone changed, I looked up at him, his eyes were now parted away from mine and he seemed to be bothered by something.

A few moments of silence passed, "Do you like him?" His voice was low, almost upset even.

"What? Like who?" I was confused at this point.

"Taehyung. You're always with him, so I'm guessing you like him or something." He said, his voice was almost broken, still avoiding eye contact.

My head shot up, "I don't like Taehyung, he's only been my best friend ever since we were little, that's all." I said. Why did he think that?

"Areum, I have something to say." His eyes were fixed back onto me.

"What?" I said, curiously.

"Ok, but before I say anything promise me you won't get mad." He said.

"Ok sure, just tell..." I was cut off by his confession.

"I'm your secret admirer." His face hadn't changed a bit, the same expression was written on his face.

My mind was full of thoughts and questions. It was him, I knew it. Yet something inside told me that it wasn't.

"But..." I tried to continue but he wouldn't let me finish.

" To Park Areum, I see you everyday and fall harder for you every second, you'll never know who I am, and that you'll always question." He said, I was speechless.

"The chocolates, the pancake syrup, that was all you?" I asked, I fixed my eyes onto his as he shuffled closer.

He nodded. "So, will you be mine?" He asked, biting his lip nervously, his blue eyes staring into me.

I opened my mouth but no words would come out. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know what I wanted. I did love Jeong, but I was still afraid, I mean I did trust him, but I couldn't get rid of my fear no matter how hard I tried. I looked away and blinked back my tears, hoping he wouldn't notice them.

"Areum," His voice was now soft, he took my hands and held them in his.

"I love you, I wouldn't do anything to hurt you. Please?" He looked at me willingly, I held onto his hands tighter and eventually he pulled me into his embrace.

Taehyung was right, my no-longer-secret admirer did love me purely, I could see that now. We were quiet for some time.

I closed my eyes, "Yes." I said, smiling. His embrace grew tighter and then he kissed top of my head before he nuzzling his head on top of it.

My phone beeped, and I released myself from Jeong's arms, it was a text message from Taehyung:

Something came up, sorry. Go home without me. I'll see you tomorrow.

I looked out the window, the rain had calmed down, and the Sun was out. I got up and turned to Jeong, "I have to go home now."

I began to leave before he grabbed my wrist, pulling himself up too.

"I'll walk you." He said, interlocking his fingers with mine.

We walked out the school gates, the puddles began to evaporate and a bright rainbow filled the sky.

"Areum, can we go to the fairground this Saturday?" He faced forward, his hand still holding onto me. I wanted to say yes but then I remembered.

"I can't, I'm grounded for the next two weeks." I sighed.

"Oh." His voice was quiet. I glanced up at him and squeezed his hand tighter. "It's ok," He said, smiling at me.

We reached the front gate of my house, "Maybe next time." He said.

He hugged me and rested his head on my shoulder. I turned my head to him, our faces only inches away from each other, his blue eyes looked more beautiful today. He quickly pecked me on the lips and released me from our hug.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I chuckled at his playfulness.

He waved and blew kisses to me before finally turning round in the other direction. Something shattered behind me, my mother stood there with her jaw hung open in shock, the broken pot pieces around her feet.

"Areum?" My eyes widened and I rushed into the house. She chased after me but I managed to lock myself into my room just in time.

Oh no. Now my mother was going to be on my case forever. My mother isn't like other mothers, she's more perky like a teenage girl, she's actually more perky and youthful-like than I am. I heard knocking on my door, but I spoke before she could say anything.

"No." I said, I knew what she was going to do.

"But, why not?" She whined like a little kid.

"Because, you're going to make a big deal out of it." I said.

I began to get dressed into my normal clothes and flopped onto my bed, scrolling through my phone. My mother didn't speak for some time and then her voice became stern.

"Park Areum, you have three seconds to open this door right now or you're grounded for another week, do you understand?" She began to count but I interrupted her before she got to one.

"But Eomma, he already wanted me to go the fairground with him this Saturday, you can't..." I stopped mid sentence and face palmed myself. What have I done?

She squealed, "If you open the door right now I'll unground you." I hesitated from the offer, but finally I went to open the door, she instantly jumped onto me, twirling me around in her embrace.

"I've been waiting for this day all my life!" She screamed.

"Yah Eomma, I can't breathe." I said, gasping for air and trying to escape from her grip.

"Sorry," She said finally releasing me.

She held onto both my hands and sat down on my bed, "Tell me everything." She said, her eyes filled with curiosity.

We sat and talked till midnight, my eyes drooped, but my mother kept asking questions.

"Ok, so..." I cut her off, with the tiny bit of energy left in me.

"Please Eomma, no more questions." I fell back and closed my eyes.

She chuckled, "Ok, good night." She covered me with a blanket and left the room.

Hey guys, how you doing? I've had so many mock exams for the past two weeks and I have a four day trip from school coming up so I haven't had much time to update. I'll try to write as much as I can to make up for the time I couldn't write as soon as I come back. Sorry for the delay, thanks for reading and being so patient.
