The next three days passed by in a flash.

People came in to see me and paid their respects. They wished me a quick recovery and left. I received gifts from everyone in the pack including flowers which were all scattered in vases around my room that gave off the most pleasant fragrances.

Only a couple of people made more visits than others. Vulcan who was my healer, Mary-Anne, Peter, Avory, Penelope, Jamie, Lewis and of course, Luke.

Vulcan would tell me all about the biological experiments that they had done in Medical School along with the humans as well as all the medical inventions he had conjured in his short life.

Mary-Anne would tell me stories of Luke's parents and how they would love me as well as all the horrors that plagued my mate after their death.

Peter told me stories about the time he spent fighting along with the humans in Iraq until I fell into the clutches of my afternoon slumbers.

Avory, Penelope and Jamie would talk about all the things they did when they were younger and how Luke was always the carefree joker before he was forced to grow up.

Lewis would indulge in my sadist mind and watch horror movies with me and laugh even harder than I did when something disgusting happened or people made stupid mistakes like going exactly where they shouldn't be going.

Luke would never leave. He'd watch everyone who came in and left, observing them. Proud that they'd grown so fond of me.

Whenever we were alone, he'd come to lay by my side and whisper sweet things to me, listen to music with me, eat marshmallows dipped in peanut butter with me and just make me fall even deeper in love with him.

My unexpected unknown visitor would show up when my mate had left for business and when he assumed I would be fast asleep. He told me stories and his regrets that made my heart clench and contract in agony for him. But I gained respect for him because through all his trials, he was still a good soul.

It was the day of my release from hospital, Vulcan and the other healers have already cleared me to go and Lewis had already come to annoy me. Jumping up and down in the hallway like the freak of nature he was, while Luke was patiently helping me pack my things.

He was so caring, a little too much, but I enjoyed the attention...

Before Luke packed my last pair of leggings in, Lewis swung the door to my room open.

"Are you done now princess?" He excitedly asked.

"What are you going on about dipshit?" Luke asked obviously irritated by his 21 year old cousins immaturity.

"That's no way to speak your elders." Lewis exclaimed in fake hurt as he covered his chest with his palm like a drama queen.

"You? An elder? Doesn't seem like it since you act fucking half your age!" Luke snorted before laughing.

"The ocean is old as fuck and it can still drown your ass with vigour. So, whatever. Come on! We gotta go home now so I can show Luna, I mean ,Alpha my uhmm... Surprise for her." Lewis grinned, looking like a jester as his smile almost went right around his head.

"You and your surprises." Luke sighed as he rubbed his hands over his face in annoyance.

"Let's just go, before he dies cause that stupid smile of his looks like it's terminal and I'm afraid it might become contagious." I giggled as I looked at Lewis who smiled at me goofily before pulling his face into something I could only call piggish.

After he stuffed my bag into Lewis' grasp, Luke picked me up and threw me over his shoulders, not paying attention to his cousins whining for us to hurry up and walked to the car in a hurry as if he wanted to get away from the noise.

When we got to the car, he put me down gently, opened the passenger door for me and closed it when I was in my seat then swiftly made his way to his side and got in before Lewis could get to the back door and drove off a few feet. He came to a halt, waiting for Lewis to get to the door again before pulling away again and stopping a few feet away once more, laughing at Lewis' groaning and yelling.

When Lewis was finally able to get in, he smacked the back of Luke's head. "You like to take the piss out of everything don't you? Wait to go for killing my good vibes! Fucking jerk." He yelled at Luke, mumbling the last part as he crossed his arms over his chest in a huff while Luke just laughed like a crazy person.

"Stop being such a drama queen, cous!" Luke chuckled as he pulled away once more and drove us home.

"So what is it that you wanted to show me Lew?" I asked as I exited the car and made my way to the front door.

"Uhm... I uhmm... Wait." He said as he moved closer to me at an awkward pace. "Lemme just..." and before he could finish, he was already dragging me by the arm to the open field.

"Why are we going to the meadow?"

"I've got... Or rather, all of us have something for you." he said in a rush as we were walking.

"Well slow the heck down a bit!"

The field came into view and I was mesmerised.

The grass was cut short and lanterns hung on strings attached to the trees on either side of the field. Over a dozen picnic tables were set out underneath them with a barbecue on the side and a dancefloor close by with a banner waving with the words "WELCOME HOME LUNA - ALPHA" written on it; the word Luna crossed out.

Everyone jumped out and yelled "SURPRISE!" as I stood there, captivated by my amazing new family and their ability to make me truly feel at home.

Luke came from the crowd with a big grin on his face and a red rose in his hand. He moved closer and bent down on one knee before he gave te rose to me.

I examined it's raw beauty and found two petals with words finely written in black paint, "Marry Me" and within the inner ring of petals I found a silver ring covered in diamonds.

I gasped as tears rolled down my cheeks and Luke stood up to wipe them away.

"YES!" I suddenly exclaimed.
"Yes, I'll marry you." I breathed as I embraced Luke and almost smothered him with kisses.

Everyone clapped their hands and cheered us on as our kiss deepened almost forgetting that we weren't alone.

I pulled away blushing as Luke kneeled once more to put the ring on my finger.

It was beautiful, just like him. Just like us.

"I love you." he whispered as he stood to kiss me again.

"I love you more." I breathed as he pulled away and I put my forehead to his to stare in his eyes as he smiled.

Lewis came up to me and pulled me to the dancefloor as he turned the music on and started dancing, cheering me on to dance along.

Hands snuck onto my body and I was swiftly turned around then pulled into a hard chest and by his scent and the fire consuming my soul I knew it was the man I have been destined to be with since the beginning of time.

And for the first time in a very long time I was truly happy, my heart filled with bliss all the way down to the core of my existence.
