Hey guys! Short update for today-my sisters both just graduated and I've been kinda busy but here you go!! Btw, listen to the song in the top/side because it goes along with this chapter perfectly! (If it's not working, search Proof by Paramore on YouTube).
And I just found out a few days ago that Faking It has been cancelled! :( I mean, honestly, I hadn't been very caught up (I stopped watching around the beginning of season 3 bc I didn't really have time to keep up anymore) but this still breaks my heart! But not everything is meant to last and I'm just grateful for the time we had with the show. This book will still continue! :)
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing but the plot and I'm not making any profit!

"..Skylar Renee Tonkin," the announcer read as a girl walked up the stage, taking her diploma with a smile. "I did it, mommy!" She exclaimed, waving to a woman who looked just like her in the audience.
"..Oh, she's up next," Amy said nervously, her hands shaking.
Everything was settling in-it was getting real. Ciara was graduating.
"..Fatima Joy Underwood.."
"Don't be so nervous, it's just graduation," Farrah said, trying to ease her daughter's nerves. "It'll be fine."
She didn't get it, though-her mom would never understand this feeling. She'd never been in love with a girl so beautiful and caring and wild in all the best ways.
"..Ciara Lenay Vaughn."
Time seemed to stop as the beautiful black girl walked across the stage, her smile could light up the whole room. She was glowing.
Amy felt her breath get caught in her throat. All she felt was proudness-despite her worry and sadness about the girl getting ready to leave her, she was so damn proud.
Her mind flashed back to a conversation they'd had a few weeks back.
(Flashback)
"I can't believe I'm actually graduating," Ciara smiled, shaking her head.
Amy just raised her eyebrow. "And why is that so unbelievable?"
She then sighed, looking down at her Jordans. "You seem to be one of the only people that thinks so.
All my life, people told me that I wouldn't amount to anything. That I was nothing. I had one teacher tell me that I'd end up just like my mom..a crack head that didn't know how to do anything with her life."
Amy's heart broke at these words. "..I-They're wrong, you know. Those assholes don't know anything about you. You've worked so hard, Ci-you got a freaking 1540 on your SAT! I know you can do anything you set your mind to-and you know that, too. Why else would you work your ass off to get this far?"
"..I guess you're right, baby. I'm just not used to having support all like this-yeah, my grandma has my back and has faith in me, but it means a lot more coming from someone like you. Knowing that you're down for me feels good."
The blonde smiled, slipping her fingers through her girlfriend's. "You don't ever have to doubt whether I'll be here or not-even if this doesn't work out-and God I hope it does-I still know you can do great things. I just want you to know that I'm here."
(End flashback)

"WOO! THAT'S MY GIRLFRIEND!" Amy found herself yelling out without thinking.
She turned beat red as many faces-some laced with judgment-stared at her.
