"The stars aren't out tonight, huh?" she whispered to herself as she gazed at the sky while wandering alone in the street.

Her eyes roamed around and saw nothing but empty parks and dim street lights. It's really making her feel melancholic.

Her name is Samantha Chase. An average girl who lives somewhere nearby. Even being described as an average girl, she really is a beauty. Her big brown eyes and her long eyelashes could make guys fall for her in just a second. But, she never saw that.

She could only see the ugly and bad things about her. She always blame herself for everything that goes wrong. It's really troublesome, but that's the way she is. She doesn't like long-talks and doesn't like to interact with other people. She hates being the center of attention yet she doesn't want to be alone. Yeah, that's her. Unpredictably beautiful.

Her mind is a mess because it's filled with unwanted thoughts. She often space out and her mind wanders everytime she thinks of something.

"...Samantha?"

She came back to reality the moment she realized that someone called her name. But she didn't turn around or even care to look where that voice came from. She continued walking as her mind is slowly turning back to where she left it.

"Hey, Samantha! I'm asking you a question!" That stopped her from walking away.

"It's a male's voice," she told herself, whispering without even trying to turn around to see if it's someone she knows or not. Well, she probably knows that that someone knows her because he called her using her name.

She heard him sigh, he heard her. "Well, duh? I'm a guy after all!" he stated in a matter-of-fact way. "By the way, why are you here by yourself? Do you want to get raped or something? Go home. It's not safe for a girl like you to be here, especially at night."

Samantha didn't respond, and that made him irritated that is why he tried to hold her arm to make her look at him but she pushed him away. "Don't touch me," she told him dryly, still not looking at him.

She hates people. More than anything.

He just gave her a smirk. "Well, Samantha, that's a nice greeting you have there. You might not know me but I know you. We're classmates but you never knew because you've never lifted your head," he told her, as he touched her chin that forced Samantha to look at him; eye to eye.

His eyes widened with amusement. He has never seen Samantha's face before. With her big brown eyes, pinkish cheeks, pointed nose and a naturally reddish lips; a goddess, he thought. It made him feel a little worked up. They are both silent for a second but his expression changed when Samantha gave him a confused look.

"Name's Raphael," he said, at last. "Remember that name, pretty face." He gave her a silly smile and leaned closer. "I will make you mine," he whispered in her ear. Samantha shuddered. She didn't do anything because of shock. Maybe because his face is admirable. He has a gentle face that could make any lady fall for him.

Raphael patted her shoulder as he pulled away. "Go home now, Samantha. With that kind of face, I am sure you'll attract trouble. You're a beauty, after all." With a smile, he left her alone.

Samantha blinked twice, trying to let this moment sink into her mind. For a second there, she was so sure that her heart is beating fast that she didn't know what to do anymore.

That's the first time someone complimented her. When she was young, all her classmates, especially the girls, would bully her because of her face. Little did she know that they are just jealous of her physical appearance and of course, the boys would tease her to get her attention. From then, she always hides her face and avoided attention.

...until no one can notice her anymore. But that guy saw her and knows her name. She thought no one could remember her name but that guy remembers it.

And, without noticing, she smiled. She may not like attention but she wants someone to notice that she exists, too.

"Eh?! No way!"

"That's ridiculous!"

"And you know what--"

Laughter and chatters filled the room while Samantha reads some kind of a novel with her headphones on. She doesn't like to talk to anyone in the room. She push people away by doing this kind of stuff. She doesn't have any friends or someone to talk to.

"Hey, there, pretty face! Remember me?" Raphael snatched her headphones from her. Before Samantha could say anything, he leaned closer to Samantha's face. "I told you I'll make you mine, right? Don't give your attention to this headphones or to that book you're reading. Give your attention to me," he said in a rather seducing way.

Her heart is beating fast again. It made her feel nervous and frightened but she didn't show it. Samantha held her breath and looked directly into Raphael's eyes, without any emotion. "You're so arrogant, you dimwit. If you want my attention then work hard to get it. I won't waste my time with the likes of you," she said, coldly.

Rather than getting hurt, Raphael smiled widely. "Well, well, this is the first time you talked to me. I might have a chance." He pulled away without removing his gaze from her eyes and winked. "I won't let you forget me."

He left Samantha dumbfounded. She blinked twice before noticing that all of her classmates are staring at her.

"What's her name again?"

"I don't know, she do not talk."

"So Raphael wants that girl, huh?"

"It's possible."

Whispers. She sighed and put her headphones on to ignore the people around her and gazed outside the window. "Raphael, huh?"

She won't forget.

Never.
