"I can't believe that you are really here.", Olivia told me with clear wonder in her eyes and a blush still present on her cheeks.
She had to look up in order to see me. A fact I found rather sweet. Although my mate was not small, I was still taller than her.

I kissed her soft lips once more and answered: "Me neither. You have no idea how I longed for you. I was never supposed to have a mate, but ..."

"Why were you not supposed to have a mate?", Olivia interrupted me curiously.

I pondered on her question for a while and actually started to struggle for an answer.
Warriors must not reveil their identity. Normal werewolves were just aware of our power radiating from us, so they got a hint that we were in fact very powerful, but we also could be "just" Alphas. Just the council and the Alphas of every pack were trusted with the information about who was a warrior. The rest of the werewolf race was clueless in order to protect the warriors and their secret.

However, Olivia was my mate and mates didn't have any secrets.

"I am a warrior.", I told her matter of factly. Even though I tried to sound somewhat businesslike I was nervous how she would react. To have a warrior as a mate had never happened before.

"Okay.", she said softly.

"Okay?", I answered surprised. Did she not hear me?

"Yeah. I am a healer, so I was also not supposed to have a mate, but it seems that the Moon goddess had mercy with our poor souls. I don't know about you, but I wanted a mate since I remember my mom and dad telling me about them. Then I turned 16 and we discovered that I was gifted with the powers of a healer. Don't get me wrong, I love being a healer and help people with my abilities, but I never truly felt whole. So, yes okay. It's even more than okay, it's a miracle for me!", Olivia told me sweetly.

Fascinated I listened to every word of my mate. She truly was the perfect match for me.

"You're right!", I told her "you are my miracle as well!"

And with that I leaned even closer and kissed her again.
She moaned and began to straddle my legs. I hold Olivia even closer and pressed her body further into mine. One of my hands craddled her face and both of her hands pulled on my shirt.

Before I could appreciate the sweet flavour of her mouth again she abruptly pulled away a few inches.

"What's your name?", she asked me in a hoarse voice. If it wasn't for the question, which made me laugh out loud, I would have kissed her senseless for her sexy raspy voice.

It pleased me that Olivia seemed as affected by me as I was by her.

"It's Leon, my love."

"Leon," she whispered softly.
Damn, if that did not make me even harder than our make out session.
Never before had someone said my name more lovingly.

All my friends call me Leo, but somehow I wanted Olivia to call me by my real name.

My wolf tried again to take control, but I got it. No need to frighten her.

"You already know, that my name is Olivia.", she realized. "Does that mean you overheard the conversation with my brother?"

I nodded and dared to hope that my mate was not angry about the fact that I listened to her conversation. Still I tried to explain myself.

"Your father invited me and two other warriors to the mating ceremony. As soon as we stepped into the ballroom I could smell you and after a conversation with your father, my wolf demanded to follow your scent. It lead up to your room and before I could leave and find you, you already made your way up here with your brother."

"Don't worry, I understand. My wolf was going crazy as well, I just thought that she was crushed that my sister found her mate and we were still alone.. I don't mean to sound selfish" Olivia rushed on, with an adorable flush on her cheeks "but I already told you I never felt whole. I was thrilled for my sister that she found her mate, but I was also devastated that something sheer simple as love was denied for a healer."

She had inclined her head during her speech and with my finger I coaxed her to look into my eyes again.

"You are perfect and never think again that love is not meant for you. I'm here now and I will show you exactly what's it like to be loved and adored as deeply as possible!", I swore feverently.

Olivia smiled shily at me and opened her mouth to say something, before her eyes glazed over.
