Meeting the others

Olivia and I made our way into the kitchen with our fingers entwined.

It struck me how normal my behaviour seemed. Just yesterday I was a lone warrior destined to be alone forever and now I have a beautiful mate, who appeared to be as smitten with me as I was with her.

With my thumb I caressed the back of Olivia's hand and my mate smiled softly at me before she gave my hand a gentle squeeze. I was certain it was to reassure me that everything, especially her, was real.

As soon as we were downstairs I could hear Mason and Jake quarrel with each other about food. Of course.

Olivia and I entered the kitchen and both Mason's and Jake's eyes shot up.

Mason was holding a plate of pancakes in the one hand and with the other one he tried to keep Jake from grabbing them.

Jake used Mason's distraction to steal the pancakes from him and Mason growled.

"I will make some more.", Olivia said and grinned.

Mason shot an evil glance in Jake's direction and nodded: "Thank you!"

"So you are Leo's mate?", Jake questioned curiously while he stuffed pancakes into his mouth.

Mason sight and rolled his eye's at Jake, but focused his attention on my lovely mate, who was gathering all the ingredients for pancakes.

I marvelled at how natural it seemed for her to cook. I kind of suspected with her being a healer and the Alpha's daughter that she was used to being cooked for and not her cooking. However, my little mate was full of surprises.

I leaned against the kitchen counter and listened to Olivia introducing herself to my friends.

"Yes. I'm Olivia, but you can call me Live.", she told Mason and Jake and smiled sweetly at them.

Her smile was infectious and both of my friends returned Olivia's smile.

I was curious why Olivia did not tell me to call her Live as well. My wolf was a bit angry that Mason and Jake got to call her Live, it seemed almost intimate.
I shook my head at that thought and moved closer to her.

"So you are Mason and Jake? I've looked forward to meeting you both!", Olivia told them as she was stirring the pancake mix.

Mason's chest puffed out proudly and Jake gave her a wolfish grin.

My wolf did not like how they acted towards our mate and I growled lowly.

Olivia's eyes locked with mine and almost instantly she was in front of me and leaning in for a quick but reassuring kiss.
My arms wrapped around her and I deepened the kiss. My mate smiled into the kiss and I did not miss the twinkle in her emerald eyes as she tried to entangle herself from me.

Mason and Jake laughed and Olivia blushingly went back to making pancakes.

"No worries Leo! She's all yours, although...", I growled loudly at Mason and he seemed to get the message, because he shut up immediately.

"I'm Jake the more handsome one of us two.", Jake began to lighten the mood.

Mason scoffed at that. "Oh please. She has eyes in her pretty little head and knows which one of us is better looking. Obviously me!"

Olivia laughed at that and all eyes were on her again. I could see that Mason and Jake already liked her and while I was glad on the one side, the other side of me did not like her anywhere near other males. I knew I could trust Mason and Jake with my life, but Olivia was a whole other story.

"If it helps I think you are both handsome, but no one can be more attractive than my mate!", Olivia winked at me.

I think my ego just got tripled in size. My wolf howled in satisfaction and I smiled lovingly at her.

"Well that's not fair! Of yourse you think that because of the mate bond, but if you had to decide just between Mason and me, who would you pick?", Jake complained.

I growled again and Olivia lifted one hand to lay on my chest.

How could she do that? Just with one simple gesture she had me like a little puppy. Tingles erupted when she touched my bare skin just an inch above my v-neckline.

My eyes softened and I lifted her hand to my lips.

Olivia blushed when my lips made contact with her skin and I grinned at her reaction. I absolutely loved it!

She pushed away again to pile the pancakes on a plate and Mason rushed forward to get one.
He smiled in thanks to her and then sat down beside Jake.

Olivia and I joined them and I took a bite of the heavenly smelling pancakes. 

"Wow they are really good!", Mason complemented and Jake looked longingly on Mason's plate.

Olivia saw it and quickly pushed one pancake from her plate onto his.

Jake's eyes began to sparkle and said: "This one's a keeper Leo!"

I looked directly into my mate's eyes and huskily said: "Oh,believe me I know!"

Olivia blushed again, but I could see the broad smile she had on her lips.

"So when do we leave?", she tried to change the topic.

"As soon as we have packed and you said goodbye to everyone.", I told her.

Mason and Jake, who both have gorged their pancakes stood up and told us that they would meet us in an hour in the Alpha's Office and left to pack.

"I think your pancakes are by far the best ones I've ever tasted!", I complemented Olivia as soon as they were gone.

I could see the rush of joy in her face as she said: "Thank you! I really love to cook!"

"To be honest I was kind of surprised that you could cook, as a healer and the Alpha's daughter.", I told her.

"Well as a healer I have to make potions as well, so I have to cook if you want to call it that. And as for being the Alpha's daughter I never saw this position as something more worthy. I really like to help my pack in any ways I can and healing and cooking are just some parts of it.", Olivia said passionately.

I locked eyes with her and took her face into both of my hands. She stared up at me, because even tough we were both seated Olivia was still a bit shorter than me.

"You are amazing! I don't know how I deserved someone as wonderful as you!", I state.

Again Olivia blushed and I caressed her tinted cheeks with my thumbs.

"I love your blush!"

Just as I was leaning in to kiss my beautiful mate a children's voice was screaming her name.
