As soon as Olivia's eyes glazed over I knew that we would not be able to finish our conversation.
My wolf growled because he wanted to spend more time with his mate, however I was more patient.
The sooner Olivia and I spoke about us being mates to her family, the sooner we would be able to escape them and just enjoy having time for each other.Olivia's emerald green eyes focused on mine again.
"What's the matter?", I asked her in hope that maybe nobody realized both her and I were gone for so long."Well, everybody is looking for us and wondering where we could be.", my mate stated with a smile on her face.
Well, there went the chance of nobody noticing anything....I sight. "I guess we should go back then."
I stood up with my mate still on my lap and I carried her into the enclosed bathroom. I sat her on top of a cabinet and went looking for a washcloth.
When I found one and turned around to tend to Olivia, my mate had a sad expression on her face.
"What's wrong, love?", I asked her worriedly. The washcloth momentarily forgotten by her side, one hand wrapped around her waist, bringing her closer to my body, and the other hand stroking her cheek.
"What will happen now Leon? I mean, you are a warrior. You are not allowed to have a family, not to mention a mate!", she whispered softly.
Olivia was close to crying and it was my fault.
My wolf howled and demanded that I should do something...anything....to make her happy again. So I tried to reassure her the best I could.
"Look at me, Olivia! You are my mate. Even though I'm a warrior and, you are right, I shouldn't even have a mate. But I do have one. So I'm not going to let you and our happiness slipping through my fingers, not when I whished so hard for you to come true. There have to be rules for something like our situations and if there are no rules then we are going to be an exception of those rules. I'm not going to let you go Olivia, ever!", I promised her feverently.
All those sleepless nights, when I wished for someone to comfort me, someone to hold and care for. And now this someone was here. I would never let her go. I would fight for her and our life. For our family.
Olivia beamed at me and I was happy to have found the right words to explain to her how I feel.
After I tended to her private area and my own, which brought me a lovely chuckle from my mate, we began to make our way downwards to her father's study.
Olivia told me that her whole family was waiting there and I had a feeling that Mason and Jake would be there as well.
Hand in hand we walked towards the Alpha's study and it was right then when the reality of my miracle struck me.
Olivia seemed to notice my feelings, because she stopped walking and looked right into my eyes.
The hand that was not entwined with mine made its way towards my face and stroke my cheek lovingly."I know!", she whispers lowly as if understanding my thoughts and feelings "I'm not going to let go of you either. We are meant for each other and I will always fight for you, for us!", Olivia promised me.
Our faces were so close to each other that I just had to lean in a bit and I kissed her affectionately on her soft, pink mouth.
Before we lost each other again in our kiss I pulled back, but not before pecking her again on her pouting lips. God, she was so sexy.
I smiled at her and I knew right then and there that I was head over heels in love with Olivia Lockwood.
Our moment was interrupted when someone pulled Olivia away from my embrace .
