Walking through the mirror shortly felt like being drowned. However, I soon found myself in a study without any windows or doors.
I turned around to see many bookshelves and a mirror on the wall. I was almost certain that I would get back through the mirror again.
I mindlinked Mason to see if mindlinking worked here as well and because I was worried about Olivia.
Everything's good. Olivia is still healing Sir Alexander but it doesn't look like she would faint or feeling unwell.
Reassured I began to scan the room again, but except of bookshelves and a bureau with an armchair there was nothing.
I took a seat and looked through the papers on Sir Alexander's desk.
Everything looked important and I was sure that nobody was actually meant to be in this study except of him.
One paper caught my attention, because it showed a picture of my dad. It was a file on his murder case and although I already knew it I remembered Sir Alexander telling me in the kitchen about new discoveries concerning my old pack.
The file was explaining how rogues attacked my back, however what I did not know was that they were signs of a traitor. Apparently this traitor gathered and paid the rogues to attack the Blue moon pack, to get rid of the Alpha family. Furthermore it said that there were also leads that black magic was involved in the attack.
Noticing another paper on the table I took it and began to read an old letter from Sir Alexander to a certain Jason.
In this letter the head expressed his concern about the attack of the Blue moon pack and that he thinks that he knows who the traitor is. However, he did not mention a name he just wrote: "Keep your friends close, but your enemy closer."
Not knowing what he meant I continued to read another letter. This one seemed like an answer from Jason to Sir Alexander.
In the letter he mentioned that he would take good care of a certain boy and that he already showed signs of an Alpha, but he would do everything in his power to protect him.
After reading the letters I somehow felt weakened and I knew that this was not because of my physical state, but because of Olivia healing Sir Alexander.
I tried to mindlink Mason and asked him how Olivia was faring, but after not getting a response I grew worried and tried to exit the room through the mirror again.
Suddenly I felt a painful sting in my heart and I heard shouting coming from the mirrow. The sting made me flinch and I knew that something must have happened to Olivia.
Please no! I just found her!
My wolf howled in my mind and I immediately stepped through the mirror into Sir Alexander's room.
What I saw in his room made my blood boil.
Olivia lay on the ground with a dagger inside her chest. Deep red blood was oozing out of her fatal wound and I had to grab onto the nearest table to hold myself upright.
Her eyes were still open, but they seemed liveless although I could still hear her heart beating.
Just then my mind realized that Mason in wolf form was fighting against another wolf.
I recognized this grey wolf instantly. It was my uncle.
I let out a guttural grown and Mason and my uncle stopped fighting instantly. The seemed to just have realized that I was there too.
Mason shifted back and my uncle tried to use this opportunity to go in for the kill.
I anticipated his move and was in front of him immediately holding his neck with both of my hands. He whimpered, but my wolf was too far gone to care about hurting anyone.
"He did it! He did everything. Poisoning the head, stabbing Olivia..", Mason stopped in a sob.
I growled again hearing that my uncle hurt my precious mate.
"Shift!", I ordered in a booming voice. He did as he was told and I mindlinked Mason to tell him to take care of Olivia. I could hear him running towards her and cursing when he saw her. I just hoped to the moongoddedd that Jake would arrive soon.
"Why did you do that?", I said in my wolf voice. I did not even try to push my wolf down, I just wanted to rip my uncle into shreds for hurting Olivia.
"Isn't it obvious?", my uncle seethed at me.
I squeezed his neck tighter and he now breathed stertorously.
"For power", he wheezed out when I loosed my grip on him a bit. "Just as I did with your pack."
Everything started to work in slow motion then and the pieces of information I had made sense.
My uncle was the traitor I just read in Sir Alexander's study about. He was the one using black magic and I recalled Olivia telling me that if one was not good at casting black magic spells one could get killed or disabled. Since the attack my uncle hobbled and therefore had a cane.
Keep your friends close, but your enemy closer - Sir Alexander's plan was to give my uncle my father's position so that he could watch out for my uncle. However, my uncle was clever and almost killed the head.
"Why not just kill the head like you did with the guards?", I asked him.
My uncle grinned malicious at me and whispered: "Because he should suffer like I suffered. First under my brother's leadership and then under his! When you came and claimed to have a mate the head grew suspicious and looked depper into the subject of the Blue moon attack. I knew then that I had to poison him more quickly. And your mate almost healed him two times. But now it's too late. Too late for her!", he spat.
Pure rage consumed me and I shifted into my black wolf. My uncle shifted as well, but he was no match for me.
Quickly my much bigger and stronger wolf had him pinned down and when he tried to cast a spell I hurried along and snapped his neck. For good measure I ripped his throat out and because my wolf was still on edge, I tore him to pieces.
I was not able to control my actions any longer, because my wolf was out for blood. We just learned that our uncle was responsible for all our misery. First for loosing my family and now for loosing my mate. My wolf howled loudly and just at that moment Jake entered with several guards and the healer in his tow.
The guards tried to come closer to me, but I just growled and snapped at them. Nothing would be able to bring me back.
Just then my wolf heard the smalles whisper calling my name: "Leon."
