Olivia moaned into our kiss and I could feel my wolf wanting to take over.

He growled and ordered me to just take her.

Take what is ours!

I carried her towards the bed and it was in that moment, where I could already smell her heavenly arousal, that I realized if we continued I would loose control.

I stiffened and Olivia immediately ceased kissing me and searched my face for any indiaction why I stopped.

"What's wrong?", she wanted to know.

I nestled my head into her neck so I could smell her and although I was incredibly turned on, Olivia's scent helped me calm down.

"If we continue you now, I won't be able to stop.", I whispered.

Her shoulders sagged, because she knew what I was speaking about.

"And then we would never learn if the council would indeed give us a chance or not.", Olivia completed my thoughts.

I nodded and wondered how I could withstand marking my mate the previous times when we were intimate.
My wolf was slowly gaining more and more power, because Olivia was that close to me and not marked as ours. In a few days he would have full control over my actions and would mark her instantly so that our mate was bound to us forever.

Fortunatelly the council would tell us their decision tomorrow. I could wait that long and I tried to convince my wolf to not give me such a hard time. A small part of me was not sure if the council would give us their approval, however mostly I had faith in the council members and their decision.

Olivia sight and unwrapped her legs from around me. When she noticed my very obvious arousal my mate blushed deeply and I had to chuckle at her behavior.

"You know you've seen it before.", I tried to embarrass her further. I just loved her blush and her innocent reactions.

I got what I wanted and my mate's cheeks deepened in their colour.

I put my index finger under her chin and forced her gaze to meet mine. I smiled lovingly at her and kissed Olivia's forhead.

"I have to step out for a minute, because I need to clear my head  and well...", I looked at my errection and Olivia giggled shyly.

With another kiss to her forhead I turned around and left our room.

I did not have a specific place in mind where I wanted to go, but I ended up walking in the garden of the castle. I stopped in front of a red rose and could not help but be reminded of my beautiful mate.

I smiled at the flower and softly touched the petals.

"Thinking of your mate?", I immediately recognized Sir Alexander's voice behind me.

Never in my whole life did anyone have a chance to sneak up on me, however Sir Alexander was the exception. When I would spend my summers at the council's castle, Sir Alexander would sometimes spend some time with me and I soon learned that he was even able to startle me. With him I often felt just normal and at that time, that was all I needed. I did not want to be treated differently, because I would become a warrior, I just wanted to be treated like a normal teenager.

"She is all I can think about!", I answered him honestly.

I turned around and instantly noticed his ashen skin colour, which was even more obvious in the faint moon light.

"We're just taking a small dinner break and then we'll be back discussing your and your mates future, but I'm sure you can tell that I'm on your side.", Sir Alexander tried to explain his appearance in the garden.

"Thank you, I really appreciate it!", I told him gently.

"I know that your uncle doesn't agree with Miss Lockhart being your mate, but I think he's just looking out for you and he doesn't want you to get tricked by her!"

I wanted to tell him that this was definitely not the case, but as soon as I opened my mouth Sir Alexander said: "I know that she is your mate I can see and feel it!"

I nodded and then asked him: "Are you alright? You look rather sick."

Sir Alexander looked taken aback then turned around as if to see if someone was listening to our conversation and said in a whisper: "You're right Leon. For some time now I don't feel well anymore. It started subtly with coughs and headaches, but now I'm shaky and I feel that even my powers are affected by my physical health."

Then Sir Alexander leaned closer to me and whispered again: "I think someone is trying to poison me."

I looked stunned at his statement, but I knew that the conclusion that he reached was plausible.

"Do you have anyone in mind?", I asked him hushed.

He shook his head and I could see how exhausted he was. Someone was slowly poisoning him and he had no clue who.

"Can you take other potions that make you healthy again?"

Again he shook his head and murmered lowly: "I can only take a potion when I know exactly what the ingredients of the poison are. But I'm not even sure if the poison is mixed into my drinks or my meals or if it is something entirely else like a gas which I inhale if I'm asleep. I can't trust anyone here. No guard, no maids not even the council members. I hate to say it, but I'm almost certain that it is one of the members, after all if I was going to die one of them would become the next head."

"You can trust me!", I instantly told him

Sir Alexander looked relieved and said: "I hoped you would say that and I trust you, you and Mason and Jake and even Olivia!"

"Can we do anything to help you?", I asked Sir Alexander.

He looked suprised and said: "I don't want to put you in any danger. If it really is one of the council members then he or she is an enemy that you can't take lightly. All of them have great powers."

I nodded and thought about it.
"Well we have all of tomorrow and as you said, we are free to do anything we want, so I say we will do exactly that."

Sir Alexander smiled kindly at me and whispered: "Thank you Leo! I really appreciate your offer and your concern!"

He then took his leave and I stood rooted to my spot in front of the rose.

Why would a council member want to become the next head? What did they want to do once they were in power?

I shook my head and walked back inside the castle, looking for Olivia so that we could join Mason and Jake for dinner. And after dinner I would let them in on Sir Alexander's secret.
