Car ride

After an hour and my wolf's constant complaining about our mate not being close to us, I found myself following her scent.

I located her outside of the house in the drive way, where her sister and her mate stood with the Lockhart family.

Olivia was embracing Sara and I could see her sister smilig at something Olivia said. With a teary face Sara turned to say goodbye to her parents.

I continued to walk towards them and saw Olivia catching my scent. Her eyes locked with mine and I gave her a reassuring smile. I knew that it must be hard for her to say goodbye to her sister, but my mate knew it was for the best. She told it Emma herself. Where one mate goes the other one follows.

As I stepped into the circle of the Lockhart's I felt comfortable. I realized that even though they met me just yesterday they accepted me and Oliva's and my bond.

Once I reached Olivia I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to me.

My wolf growled satisfied and Olivia laid her head onto my chest. I inhaled the scent of her shampoo and instantly all the worries consuming me about warrior Beck and my uncle disappeared.

All of a sudden Sara was standing in front of us and with a grin she said: "Because Olivia gave the same speech to Lukas I feel like I should return the favour!"

Olivia laughed and stated: "Well, I had to make sure that he won't hurt you and if he does that he's going to get it!"

I smiled at this fiercely protective side of Olivia. I could just hope that she felt the same protectiveness for me as well.

"I really hope you make my sister happy, because she really deserves that. I hope you realize how special she is and how you never ever will find someone more amazing than Live!", Sara told me seriously.

I smiled reassuringly at her, because I would never leave Olivia for what ever reason. I would love and appreciate her till the day we died.

"I promise you! I know a miracle when I see it and Olivia is definitely one.", I looked lovingly into Olivia's eyes and she kissed me gently.

Soon Olivia embraced Sara again and then Lukas, which my wolf and I did not like at all, but we knew that he was Sara's mate and that he just had eyes for her.

Shortly after that Sara and Alpha Lukas got into their car and sped off.

Luna Lockhart sighed and her mate pulled her closer into his embrace.

"I think we have another goodbye coming up.", the Alpha whispered.

Olivia was hugged by her mother and father, who told her how proud they were of her and that she should call immediately once the council told us what their decision is.

Her brother looked unhappy as Olivia ruffled his hair, but then grinned at her and pulled her into hug.

Just then Mason and Jake arrived with our SUV. They exited the car and expressed their thanks to Olivia's parents and told them that they would keep an eye on us.

Mason winked at that and Olivia's mother stated happily: "But not all the time! I want to have grandbabys soon!"

Alpha Lockhart was not pleased by her statement: "But not too soon, our Livy is still so young!"

The Luna rolled her eyes and both turned towards me. She pulled me into a crushing hug and welcomed me into her family. Olivia's father and brother shook my hand and while her dad asked me to always take good care of his daughter, Tommy swore that he would beat me up pretty bad if I ever did something to hurt her.
Although my wolf and I did not like those threats we were still glad that our mate had such a deep bond with her family.

Our suitcases were already in the car and after a round of take cares we were off.

"Why do I have to sit beside Mason?", Jake complained immediately.

"Because I'm driving and I want Olivia close to me and in the safest spot in the car.", I stated calmly. Inwardly I already prepared for the car ride and Mason's and Jake's bickering.

Olivia turned her gaze from outside the window to me and said: "As long as everybody has a seatbealt we're all safe."

"Finally we have someone that cares about our well being!", Mason said happily.

"So what do you think about a few questions Live?", Jake asked eagerly.

She smiled at him. "Sure!"

"How old are you?", Mason wanted to know.

"I'm 23, and you guys?"

"We are all 25. So there's a two years gap between you and Leo, meaning you two have the same stage of emotional competence", Mason said pleased.

"Did you read that in one of your magazines?", Jake laughed.

"Shut up!"

"I think it's sweet that he worries about Leon and me.", Olivia smiled at Mason.

Mason's chest puffed out proudly and Jake looked briefly jealous.

"I never would have thought that someone this pretty would be Leo's mate.", Jake said quite eager to make the same impression as Mason.

I grolwed and Olivia laid her hand onto my leg.

"I think it's quite the other way around!", Olivia stated softly

"Did she just call Leo beautiful?", Mason laughed and Jake joined him.

Olivia blushed, however my wolf and I were delighted. I took her hand and kissed her fingers.

"The word beautiful doesn't do you justice.", I whispered so just she could hear.

She blushed even more.

"Did you call your uncle and told him about our visit?". Mason had stopped laughing while Jake was still chuckling.

"I did. To say he was surprised when I told him I found my mate is a bit of an understatement.", I chuckled. I had decided to not interpret too much in my uncle's reaction. He was probably really just surprised.

"Your uncle is a council member?", Olivia asked curiously.

"Man Leo, you take her to meet your family and Live doesn't even know. Way to mess up.", Jake laughed.

I rolled my eyes, but laid my hand onto hers to reassure her that everything was alright.

"Yes my uncle is Sir John. My father was a council member, but he had no protégé so the council decided after his death that my uncle, his brother, should take over his role.", I explained.

"But what about your pack? Was your father the Alpha and a council member?", Olivia wondered.

"Yes it was hard, but manageable. My old pack was close to where the council lived, still lives. My father was still the Alpha, but anounced a second Beta, who helped him and the old Beta."

"Wow, that must have been a great effort.", she marvelled.

"All of them were good in what they were doing. I don't even remember my father not having time for me. Maybe because he became a council member really late. He was Sir Frederick's protégé and he died when I was almost 11 years old."

"I'm glad that you could spent so much time with your father.", Olivia tells me smilingy.

I locked eyes with her and I could see how supportive she was going to be.

A loud snoar interrupted our moment and we both looked back to see Mason and Jake both leaning against each other already asleep.
