"Bye Jess. I'll see you at home."
"Bye Sair." Jessie leaves. I close the door behind her.
"You all packed up?" I ask Carter, who's taping a box.
"Yeah. Can you go do a quick run through for me?"
"Yeah. Be right back." I walk up the stairs. Lindsay is sitting on the floor in the hallway. She looks like she's been crying. "Where's Ryan?" I ask.
"His room. Carter packed up?"
"Yeah." I take a peek in Carter's old room. It's empty. The walls are newly painted white. I look away. I'm about to cry.
"You too?" Lindsay asks.
"Yeah." Ryan comes out of his room.
"Ready?" He asks.
"Sure." The three of us walk downstairs. I pick up a box of old sheets and put it in the trunk of their car. Carter's parents start the engine. Ryan says goodbye to Lindsay and gets in the car. I start to walk to ours.
"Wait," Carter says. I turn around. He runs toward me and kisses me. I start to cry. "Please. Don't start. Carter." He starts to cry.
"And now I'm..."
"I'll see you soon okay."
"Yeah. I'll call you when I get there. Okay?"
"Okay." I start to turn away.
"Bye Juliet." I look back at him.
"Bye Romeo."
