We take our seats in the crowded theater. "Favorite Shakespearian insult?" Carter asks.
"I don't know! You do?"
"Yep. Just say one that sounds like it could be Shakespearean." I look through my program. In the kids section, I see a page of do-it-yourself insults.
"Okay, um, Carter Smith is a greasy ill-breeding rabbit-sucker."
"Wow! Well, that was cold." I smile.
"Thank you. I'll be here all night. Now you."
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because you're too beautiful to say it to."
"Stop!"
"Stop what?"
"Stop being so dang cute," I say slapping his arm.
"So dang cute? Dang cute? Dang?" He bursts out laughing. The lights dim.
"Yes. Now be quiet."
