The doorbell chimes. I open it. A woman is standing there holding a little boy's hand.

"Rachel! Hi! How are you?" I give her a hug. "Hi Lucas, how are you?" He turns away.

"He's a little shy," Rachel says.

"It's fine. Come on in."

"Luke, can you say happy birthday to Sarah? Say happy birthday to Sarah."

"Happily bird day," Lucas says.

"Thank you, Lucas." He hands me a pink gift bag. I take it and lead them to the backyard. Tommy and Michael are on the swing set. "Michael, Rachel's here." He runs over and gives her a hug.

"Hi, Ms. Rachel."

"Hi, baby." She hugs him back. "I forgot, have you met Lucas yet?"

"Yeah. Hi, Lucas."

"Buddy!" Lucas points at Michael.

"Lucas, go play with Mikey." Lucas and Michael run to the swing set with Tomas.

I put the gift bag on a foldout table near the tent. Dad walks into the backyard.

"Hey did I hear... Rachel! Hi! You look just like your mother." They hug.

"Robert! Hey, how are you?"

"I'm good, I'm good. Feeling a little old, but still living."

"Thanks again for taking care of Michael. I really appreciate it."

"Hey, your mom practically raised me. It was time to return the favor."

"Wait a second, babysitting during date night is nothing compared to what you did for me. You let me get an education, keep a job, and keep in contact with my son. For that, I am truly grateful."
