"Trick-or-treat!" Lindsay says ringing our doorbell even though we just walk in. "Honey, I'm home!" Nikki yells. Tommy, Lucas, and Michael come running.
"Who are they?" Michael asks, referring to Ryan and Carter.
"Mikey, this is Carter, and this is Ryan," I say.
"What are they doing here?" Tommy asks.
"Tommy, can you please just go get Mom and Dad?" Lindsay asks.
"Not until you tell me why he's here."
"He's my boyfriend. Now scat!" Michael and Lucas follow Tommy into the kitchen.
"Speaking of parents," I say as Mom walks into the room.
"Okay, I think I'm seeing double," Mom says. "Wait, Lindsay, is this Ryan?"
"Yeah. Ms. J, meet Ryan Smith. Ryan, meet Ms. J. She's Jessie's and Sarah's mom."
"Nice to meet you," Ryan says shaking Mom's hand.
"And I'm Ryan's brother, Carter."
"Well, welcome. We have snacks in the kitchen if you would like some," Mom says shaking Carter's hand. Ms. Merlin her husband walk into the living room.
"Ryan, I'll be right back," Lindsay says, walking over to her parents.
"Sarah?" Carter asks.
"Yeah?"
"Is there somewhere we can talk?"
"Sure. Let's go to the backyard."
We walk through the kitchen and go outside. We sit down on the patio seats. "So, what's up?" I ask nervously.
"I know I only just met you, like a few hours ago in fact. And I know that your best friend is dating my brother. But I really like you. Would you, would you be my girlfriend?" A giant smile runs across my face.
"Yes!" We hug then go back inside.
"Sarah, may I use the restroom?" He asks.
"Sure, It's right over there," I say pointing to the door. Jessie runs over to me.
"What did he say?"
"He asked me to be his girlfriend!" We squeal.
