I was running through the woods. It was pitch black outside and I couldn't make out much in front of me. I could feel all the cuts and bruises on my legs and feet from the bushes and the trees scratching me. My lungs felt like I swallowed lava and were burning me from the inside out. My heart was beating so hard and fast I was starting to worry that it couldn't keep up and would just stop all together. I kept tripping over my own feet and random twigs and logs on the ground. I couldn't stop running though. They'd catch up with me then I'll be in for a world of pain. My breathing was coming out in short sharp pants. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. I looked over my shoulder and didn't see anything. They're still there. I can sense them. When I turned back around, I fell down a massive hole. I tried to scream but my throat was so dry nothing escaped my lips. I hit the bottom with a loud thump. I tried to scream out in pain again but it was silent. All I could hear was the sound of my heart drumming in my ears and my breath leaving my lips. I tried to sit up but I was frozen in pain.

I looked down at what I was wearing. I had a white night dress on. It didn't leave much to the imagination. By now it was probably black from the amount of dirt on it. I looked at my frail arms and my legs sprawled out. I could see some bruises forming in the low light and the tiny cuts of blood on my arms and legs. Why am I not healing yet? I tried to move again but to no avail. That's when I heard them. A low growl in the back of their throat. I looked up to the top of the hole. Three big wolf heads looked over the top staring at me with teeth bared. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat but my whole body felt paralyzed. I tried to scream but my body wouldn't move. One of them shifted then jumped down into the whole with me. As soon as his feet touched the ground, I blacked out.

I sat up bolt straight in bed, dripping in sweat. What the hell was that? I raised a hand to my chest and felt my heart racing. That wasn't a memory. That's never happened to me before. I closed my eyes and thought back to the dream. I was wearing a white night dress, one that I've seen before. The wolf that shifted, I recognized him from somewhere. I tried to picture his face and where I knew it from. When it suddenly hit me, I felt my heart skipped a beat. My eyes went wide in shock.

Shit.

I bolted out the room with Alcide asking me what was wrong. I didn't pay him any attention as I made my way to the infirmary to see the Luna moaning and twisting in her sleep. She yelped out in pain and was moving her body as if her arms and feet were restricted. Even though her eyes were closed I could see all the pain on her face. I rushed to her bedside and put my hands on her shoulders, holding her down. Almost straight away she stopped moving. I closed my eyes and searched for her wolf. I found her curled up in a corner of Luna's mind. I touched her with my thoughts. I could feel how scared she was. I forced my feelings of calm and trust over her. I have no idea how much time went past but eventually she stopped cowering away from me and showed me her neck as a sign of respect. I imagined touching her neck and giving it a slight ruffle. She leaned into my touch.

"It's okay, you're safe now." I heard her whimper. "Take my hand. You're going to be okay." She hesitated before putting her face in my hand. "Follow me." I led her out the dark corners of Luna's mind and bought her to the front. It was bright and smelt of summer. I looked down at the wolf and smiled. "No one's going to hurt you. You're safe now." She let out a deep sigh and laid down, resting her head on her paws.

I went over her whole body. Fixing every wound. I couldn't help much with the emotional ones but I made sure she felt safe.

I was suddenly ripped away from her as she sat bolt up in bed panting. I stepped away with wide eyes and breathlessness.

"Milly?" I turned around and saw Alcide stood at the door. "What was that?" I looked back at the Luna who was looking at me with wide eyes.

"I... I have no idea." I mumbled. I moved closer to the Luna, "Are you okay now?" She slowly nodded her head.
