For the next few days, Liam has not heard anything from Sloane, getting irritated and almost giving up. Hope promising to let him know if she sees her.
"Sloane was just here," the text reads from Hope.
"Did you see where she was going? Did she leave with someone?" he texts back.
"She grabbed a bag of stuff and left."
"I'm really worried about her..."
"I'm sure she's fine."
Liam sighs, reading Hope's message and looking at Mackenzie who is laying on the floor, playing with the mobile. The little girl giggling and grabbing some of the dangling items. Getting up, he heads into the kitchen to heat up a bottle for Mackenzie. Liam makes his way back into the living room, picking up the little girl and sitting down on the couch. His phone begins to ring.
"Hey man what's up?" Liam answers the phone, Javier on the other end.
"Twenty-one's ex is here looking for you."
"Why the hell is he there? What does he want?"
"I don't know. He's sitting in your office."
"Shit, okay I'll be there in like twenty minutes," Liam sighs, hanging up and dialing his sister.
"Hello?" she answers on the third ring.
"Hey, can I ask you a huge favor?" Liam asks. Mackenzie finishing her bottle as Liam balances the phone between his ear and shoulder. He burps the little girl.
"I can't Liam. I have to take Gracie to the doctor."
"Okay, thanks anyway."
"I'm sorry. I would, but I'm not taking a baby to the clinic."
"Okay, I got it. Thanks," Liam hangs up and looks over at Mackenzie before putting her in the carrier and taking her with him.
Liam pulls up to the shop about fifteen minutes later and gets out, getting Mackenzie's carrier. He walks in.
"Is he still in my office?" Liam asks Javier.
Javier nods. Liam takes a deep breath and walks to his office, opening the door and walking in.
"Liam," he hears his name.
"Eric," Liam replies, setting down Mackenzie's carrier.
"She looks like you."
"Yeah she does," Liam says, taking Mackenzie out of the carrier. "What do you want man?"
"Have you seen Sloane?"
"No, I haven't. Not for about a week and a half. Have you?" Liam asks.
"A few days ago. She came to my place and told me she was pregnant, and I didn't react well."
Liam's jaw clenches. "What do you mean you didn't react well?"
"Relax, I didn't touch her," Eric looks at Liam. "Just said some dumb shit."
"Like what?"
"It doesn't matter. That's between her and I," Eric stands up. "Thanks anyway."
"No, tell me," Liam follows. "What did you say to her?"
"I just wanted to know if you've seen her."
"What did you say to her?" Liam asks more sternly. "Have you been answering her phone?"
"What? No. I saw her for like twenty minutes."
"Eric, I don't like you, and you know that. But she's with someone, and I'm just as worried about her as you are."
"She'll be fine."
"What did you say to her?" Liam asks once again.
"Nothing man."
"Then what was your point coming here? Huh?"
"To find my girl and bring her back to me."
"Your girl huh?" Liam laughs. "She's not yours bro."
"You know she's still going to marry me."
"Get the hell out of here."
Eric laughs and walks out. The news about Sloane being pregnant resurfacing into his mind. He looks at his daughter that is in his arms.
"Dada," she giggles, grabbing at him.
"Yeah baby I'm your dad," Liam smiles, leaning down and attacking her with kisses.
"Dada dada dada," Mackenzie giggles. Liam walks back to his chair and sits down. He begins to play peekaboo with her.
"Yeah look at that tough guy," Javier smiles, walking in.
"Oh shut up Uncle J."
"How'd it go?"
"I don't even know why the hell he even came."
Javier shrugs, sitting down.
"He told me Sloane's pregnant."
"Yeah? His?" Javier asks.
"No idea. He commented that she was going to marry him."
"Is she?"
"At this point, I don't even care. I haven't talked to her in almost two weeks. A guy keeps answering her phone when I call. I don't know. I need to focus on Mac."
"Yep," Javier grins. "She's the girl in your life right now."
"Yep."
"I'm sorry man. She looked good on paper."
"Yeah. I mean what's a college girl want with me anyway? I better get her home," Liam says standing up, putting Mackenzie in her carrier. "I'll be back tomorrow, Danielle is watching her cause Gracie wants to play with her."
"Alright, see you tomorrow," Javier pats his shoulder.
