Aurora's POV
Picked my pace, I walked as fast as I could as I don't want to meet another members of this gangs. I arrived in class in no time as I've been taking the same route for more than five months now.
The class always looked like it was a court. The information board was full of essays or poem made by previous year's students and there's no speaker in his room. The colour was typical, white. But somehow, it gave me butterflies, sent chills down to my spine, goose bumps and many more.
Not joking.
Entered the class with accelerating heartbeat, I took a seat at the corner of the class. At the last row, where if I throw my glance out of the window, the school flag will shines with the help from the wind.
"Yes, I'm scared." I muttered under my breath. Sometimes, you have to admit things — out loud.
They can do anything.
It didn't took long enough until I saw their figures walking to the class. They were arm in arm and took a seat right in front of me.
Yes, I'm scared.
I bit my bottom lup and took out my water bottle from my bag pack. As I drank my water, James whispered something to Diana and it cracked her up. Their small laughs made me uncomfortable in my own way.
On top of everything, my free hair has been a mess.
Diana has been pulling my hair band several times before. A lot, actually and I had to buy a new one every single month. Since they came in a packet with just three in each, you can do the maths on how many times she pulled my hair.
Mrs. Rose came into the class with her red suit and beautiful angleise skirt. and put her classy red handbag on the chair. Then, she took a glance of the whole class with her furious face.
Letting out a heavy breath, she started to asked "I want to know, "
She spared a glance at a boy and then uttered "Who didn't pass this subject last year?"
With that one question, everyone just stop breathing, literally.
What the hell?
Who's going to fail English? Plus, if and only if anyone failed their test, they're not going to raised their hand, either. Even if the teacher were holding their records in her palm.
That's how we roll in GreenTown High School, folks.
And as I expected, no one raised their hands.
Her corner lips started to form a smile and she raised her eyebrows in happiness, giving us a nod and comfortable glare. "Good, for this year, I don't want any of you fail in my subject."
"I'll ask you to do assignments almost every single class and ask you to pass it up the next class. Anyone who disagree with this term can pack your things and leave this class, " She looked from the left row to right intimidately before continued : "Now. "
Students held their breath once again. Not wanting to get called, they averted their gaze into other places but her eyes.
But, I don't.
"You! The one who sitting at the back." Her index finger pointed at my seat.
I knew I should've looked at her bag!
I swallowed the lump in my throat, "yes, Mrs Rose. "
"Sit beside Cassie Brien." She commanded me.
Hell.
I stood up and my anxiety rosed up at the same time. I tried to walk confidently and normally but I failed.
Maybe they noticed I was chickened out because I heard small snorts came from here and there. With looks that ignited fire on my back, I finally reached to the table where I was asked to seat.
I apologetically smiled at Mrs Rose and she gave me a nod before turning her heels.
She forgot her question but no one's gonna leave anyway.
"Students, open your copy of How I Met Myself book. We're going to learn a new chapter." Mrs. Rose is furious when it comes to discipline but she's always there to help her students when it comes to education.
Admit it, you have at least one teacher that acted just like this in your school.
Alas, good news! I didn't bring my copy so I covered it with my notes. Pretending that I wrote some notes in a completely blank sheet of paper.
A good start to kick off this year into trash can!
"Hey," Cassie spoke.
"Hi,"
"My name is Cassie Brien"
"Brien, Aurora Daisine." We started introducing ourselves like children on their first day of kindergarten.
Sheepishly smiled, we turned our gaze to Mrs Rose.
"One day, this man walked into a street where he was familiar to. Suddenly, in a dark alley, he saw a figure and when he took a close look, it was him. " Mrs Rose explained briefly about the synopsis of the short story.
Even when my hands are busy writing, my hearing and thoughts were wandering into other places.
To James and Diana's conversation.
They were talking about their interest in something I couldn't figured. I acted like I don't care about their boring exchanging point of views and continuing to take my notes.
I do, actually.
Life for me is so hard, now. Too hard. I expect to live in a dainty dreams and sparkling hopes of world but I guess life decided to put me here.
"Now, do your assignment about the short story chapter one until three and send them to me by the next class." Mrs. Rose commanded about the assignment she gave to us.
"What? It's the first day of school. Come on." Cassie uttered.
"God, I hate her." She admitted.
I smirked and looked at her sea blue eyes.
"For your own's sake, you better do this assignment or someone is going to do something one hates the most. " I threatened her with my eyes.
We both knew I was joking.
"Yes, I understand. But, she's just way too demanding," she continued and ended her sentence with a heavy sigh.
"It's okay. I promise you're going to get a good grade this upcoming exam." A promise slipped off my tongue without me noticing it.
Cassie furrowed her eyebrows, "Upcoming exam? How would you know I'll get a good grade? Plus, it's three months away. "
"We can always plan things early so that we can prepare for it." I winked.
"You are no fun." She groaned.
I really love this conversation.
God, I do.
Taking out my baby blue book, I wrote down the first homework after writing down date and day on the top left.
"Since you promised me, how about you tutor me." She blurted out.
I looked up and see her beautifully carved teeth lining up towards me. She smiled with her eyes and I started to have eerie feelings about this.
"What? "
