Amnesia

Chapter 41

Aurora's POV

"So, you wanna tell me now?" Cassie said after the song ended.

I hate when the song ends. It has such a good vibe, though.

"What do you wanna know? " I raised one of my eyebrows and gave her my favourite cocky look.

"You better spill it out or I swear I'll snap. " She lowered her voice and it became husky. I laughed because I know how much Cassie loves to hear any of my stories.

"Okay, okay. I'll tell you. "

Cassie is horrifying. She could just say that one sentence and I'll spill all my beans. I should call her Ms. Horrendous.

Anyway, I told her about what happened yesterday.

"Oh my God! You guys are so sweet! Get married already! " Cassie was slamming the steering wheel and shrieking.

"Stop it God, you're gonna get us killed! " I screamed.

She laughed and drove her focus back in the road.

"So where are we going exactly? " I asked when we arrived at a t-junction. The traffic light turned red so Cassie stepped on the brake pedal.

"Oh, so first we're going to.. "

Cassie was talking but my eyes and mind delved into different places. It was at night and it was cold. I was driving a car.

Shit, this is another vision.

I crashed and stumbled down. But then I saw James which I knew from the last vision.

"Who did this to you?! " he screamed and some people pat him on the back. I saw his runny nose and blood shot eyes.

It breaks my heart to see him like that.

He got up and dialed someone. I guess he was calling the ambulance. But my theory was wrong when I heard he called dad.

While waiting for ambulance or his dad, James was there beside me the whole time. He gave me his warmth by wrapping his big hands over mine. He was still sobbing but he looked up.

And I can see his perfect skin.

God, he's so beautiful.

His tears were shed and it hit my cold skin. I was freezing and — it's gone.

"Roe? Did you hear what I said just now? " Cassie gently pushed my arm and I was immediately back in the present.

Holy God that was wicked!

"Yeah, I'm sorry. " I said and Cassie started to drive again when the light turns green.

"What were you thinking? " she asked with concerned eyes.

"Nothing, really. " I said. I actually don't want to worry her because I know she has done so much for me.

"You know you're awful at lying, right? " she said. Cassie's eyes were still on the road but I know she has a wrinkled forehead right about now.

"Lately, I've been having visions. " I stated.

"Continue, " she urged me gently.

I took a deep breath before uttering another sentence "First vision was about the accident. Nothing much, really, I just know that a motorcycle slipped under my car and I plopped down on the grass. It was at a t-junction. " I said, lowering my head.

"That's why you seemed off. " She concluded.

"Yes, anyway. I saw James in the vision. " I heard Cassie gasped.

"I don't know what his connection with the accident but he was devastated. That's all. " Cassie held my right hand with her left.

"So, vision two? " she asked. Giving my hand a gentle squish and half-smiled before letting go of my hand.

"It happened just now, as you guessed. I was on the grass and all. But then, James was crying like hell. I don't know what to do because I can only see him from below. I wanted to reach for him but I couldn't. He called the ambulance or his dad, I don't know and he was by my side the whole time until the ambulance arrived. And then, it ended. " my breath hitched.

Cassie doesn't give any comments and I started to get a little worried.

"Are you okay? Do you know anything about this? " I asked.

"I'm fine. No, I don't. Anyway, if it was just a piece of puzzle from what happened in your past, you know I'll always be here to help you. Okay, girl? " she said and gave me her enchanting smile.

I smiled and I silently pray to God to keep our friendship this way. I don't think I could live without her.

I nodded and smiled to her. "I know. "

"Okay, let's quit this and have fun! " She said when we arrived at a beautiful festival. It was packed with people and I can hear the sound of music blasting through the speaker.

It was a fuzzy warm and gentle festival, I can tell by the loud music but one thing that caught my eyes was the banner hung high up to the sky.

"FOOD FESTIVAL 2K17"

And I immediately hyped up.

"Cassie?! " I screamed through the loud noises.

"Yeah?! " she screamed too but she covered her ears.

"It's a food festival?! " I asked, still screaming.

"Yes! Now let's enjoy! Stay close okay? I don't want to lose you. " she said and I nodded.

We went through a massive crowd and arrived at one of the stalls selling unique burgers and drinks. Cassie ordered something called Charcoal Burger which uniquely the bun was black and I immediately lose my appetite to even try her burger. Don't judge me.

I ordered a pretty simple burger with meat and all the vegetables but what makes my food extra special was the fact that I ordered chocolate chip Oreo drink.

Yum.

We sat on the grass and enjoyed our food. Yes, these festivals don't have any tables for people to sit because the purpose is to connect with real people.

Cassie set the 'table' and we started to dig in.

"Roe, can I go to that stall? Will you wait for me for a while? " Cassie spoke up and showed her index finger to a lasagna stall which flooded with customers.

"I can wait! " I giddily said and took some pictures with my phone.

"Well well, look who we have here?" A girl with blonde hair approached me with some other girls.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I couldn't remember who she is.

"Hey, I'm sorry to ask but who are you? " I said with a gentle smile.

"Oh! I forgot you have amnesia. " she said with her quite high pitch voice.

I nodded and gave her a warm smile again which she didn't return back.
"I'm Diana. Your biggest nightmare. "

She and her underlings laughed.
