Chapter 40

Aurora's POV

I went into my bathroom and brushed my teeth. When I went out of the bathroom, my brother was sitting on my bed and using his phone very attentively.

"Max, " I called out, rewarding him with my charming smile.

"Hey. " he said, pushing the lock button on his phone and setting it down beside him.

"What are you doing in here? " I asked and sat beside him.

"Nothing. Just wanna hang out with my sister. " he replied.

I nodded my head and lied down on my soft bed, earning some cracks on my back. My body must be really tired because once I lied down, my eye lids lied down too.

I felt a gentle and soothing heat on my forehead and a goodnight whisper before hearing the door shut.

It was dawn and I don't think I remember being this giddy in the morning.

I walked downstairs and found my mom shaking her hip to some old country song. I don't even know why she's so addicted to it but it sounded pretty nice in my ears.

"Morning, beautiful! " I said and gave my mom a kiss on both cheeks.

"Morning, honey. " she chuckled at her own mischievous behaviour.

"What's cookin'? Good lookin'? " I said and sat on the dining chair.

Max and Alyssa came down and sat beside me before Dad joined us.

"You know, Roe. Your gramps loves to say that sentence every time I cook," mom said while serving Dad's bread.

"Really? That must be nice," I said and poured myself a warm cup of coffee.

"Yeap. It sure is," Max said and gave me cheerful smile.

We had our breakfast together and Max was on duty to send Alyssa to school before he drives to his college. Dad started his car and drove off to work. Mom, also, drives her car and went to I don't know, I didn't get a chance to ask her.

So, I turned on the tv and changed the channel to BBC news. It was boring so I changed it to a cartoon channel. A cartoon called SpongeBob SquarePants showed up and I immeditealy fell in love with that yellow sponge.

Then, my phone rang from my room and I bothered myself to jog up the flight of stairs and answered the call.

"Hello? " it's a girl voice and I immediately recognise the owner of the voice. Cassie's.

"Wanna hang out with me today? And tell me what happened yesterday? " she asked and I blushed at her last question.

Whoops! Almost forgot to tell her about that one.

"Oh yeah! Sure, you come to my house or I come to yours? "

She snorted. "I'll come to yours. Be ready, princess. " she chuckled before ending the call.

I smiled looking down at my phone. Cassie never fails to put a smile on my face.

I chose my white top and floral skirt. Since it's kinda windy outside, I wore my long socks and chocolate boots.

I walked out of the house after locking the padlock on the front gate.

When I turned around, James was standing behind me, staring at me accompanied with his charming smile. Cutie.

"Morning, girlfriend! " he said and kissed my cheek.

"Morning, boy space friend. " I sarcastically replied.

"Ouch. Baby, it hurts. " he pouted fakely.

"Sorry. Morning, my prince charming aka my most flattering boyfriend! " I said and smiled widely at him.

He laughed and bent down a little so that his face is on the same level as mine.

"Kiss me? " he asked.

"Why should I? " I shot back.

"Because I'm your boyfriend? "

"Not convincing enough babe. Try again. " I said and held back my laugh.
He was thinking hard and his cheek was burning. It looks so cute.

"Because I need you? I miss you? I love you? " then he stopped for awhile before continue. "Oh wait, I am in love with you but-I don't have the reason okay? I want you to kiss me and that's it! Is it that hard? " he said.

I smiled. "I'm just joking. " I laughed and then cupped his cheek before gently intertwining our lips.

"That's my girl," he said and we both jumped when we heard a honk sound.

"What are you doing?! Oh my God! Get a room! "Cassie shouted from her car.

"Shut up woman. " James said and laughed.

"Come on, Roe. We should go. " Cassie said and smiled.

I showed a stop sign to signal Cassie to wait a minute.

I hugged James' shoulder and he kissed my baby hair. It felt so warm until I just don't care about going out with Cassie anymore. I just want to spent my day with this guy at my house. Or my room. Or both. What was I thinking?

"Have fun, okay? " he said and planted a kiss on my cheek before shoving me to Cassie's car.

"Bye! Have fun! " he said and I waved my hand at him.

My man doing it right!

"So, is James any good? " Cassie asked and turned the radio on. Shape of You by Ed Sheeran played.

"Define good. " I said and we laughed before jamming to the song.
