Chapter 39

James' POV

After the intimate session we had in the car, I drove to the park and settled down.

"I'm hungry. Can we eat there?" Roe said, pointing her index finger to the Mario's.

"Yes, baby. " I said and she blushed deeply.

We went out from the car ad I locked my right hand with her left. She looked at me with confusion.

"Well, you're mine, right? " I said in a cheeky voice.

"So what are we? Dating? " she asked. We were walking towards the restaurant but with slow steps. So slow.

"Complicated. " I said and Roe widened her eyes.

She smacked me on the back and I laughed.

We entered the restaurant, finally, and immediately ordered our food. Roe with her spaghetti something and I just go with snack plates where it consists all the favourite junks you ever had your entire life.

Yeap, entire.

Roe did asked me if I knew anything about her in the past and I just shrugged it off. She would never believe me if I ever say that we were best friend who shares each problems inside out. Until I broke her down.

"I am still sad. " she said, hitching her voice.

"Why? " I asked after the waitress served our food.

"Because we didn't know each other that well in the past. If we do, damn, we might be in a different situation now, right? " she said.

Baby ,why do you always trigger the uncomfortable pain in my heart?

"Yeap. " was all I said and we quietly ate our food.

After that we decided to take a quick walk around the park.

I laced my fingers again with hers and walked with her. She was humming some songs that I couldn't recall what the title and we walked calmly.

As if we knew each other steps. Each others minds, each other's hearts. We walked along the park and stopped at one of the benches provided in the park.

I pulled out my cell from my pocket and saw a text from Cassie.

"I think I want to go out and have some fun with Roe. Are you coming? "

I'm already with her.

I chuckled at the text, thinking how she would react if I tell her everything that had happened.

"I'm with her now. You can postpone your little trippy-doo with her tommorow. "

*sent*

"Who's that? " Roe asked, luring her eyes to the text sender.

"It's Cassie. Asking you to go out with her later. "

She looked guilty. So I smiled gently to her. "Hey, I already asked her to postpone it 'till tommorow. You don't have to feel guilty. "

Hey eyes shimmering with sparks. Excitement, I guess. "Really? Thank you. "

I nodded. She then took my cell and went to the application.

She tapped the camera and began posing herself. She's good at camera, that's for sure because she knows what direction the phone has to tilt so that both of our faces can be seen on the screen.

"Smile! " she said and I kissed her cheek.

She checked the picture and smiled widely.

"Do you like it? " she said showing me the picture.

She was smiling vibrantly as if she was responding to my kiss.

"I love it. Let's take another one. " I said and it's my turn to hold the camera.

We smiled and giggled at the pictures that we took.

I posted some of them on my social media and totally abandoned the comments. I hate how some people will react negatively on my pictures. Fortunately, I didn't replied to all the comments but one. Cassie's.

She commented: "someone's having fun without me. Can't wait to hear it from both of you xx. "

I chuckled and replied: "So much fun! We'll catch tommorow. :)"

"It's nearly 5, can we go to the beach and watch sunset? Please? " Roe asked with pleading eyes.

"You know my plans?! How can you know my plans? " I said, giving a her a joking glare.

She laughed and smacked me on the arms.

"Ow. " I said, rubbing my arms.

"I'm sorry. " she panicked. And her face looked extra puffy. And I, of course, laughed.

She gritted her teeth and pouted. Pull that beautiful mouth out and sent in the car.

I put the keys into its ignition and looked at her. She still pouting, honestly, why can't this girl be mature for a second?

It's okay. She's mine anyway.

"Baby, are you still mad? " I said looking towards her.

She just looked straight but still pouting. So I got up and pecked a kiss on her full lips.

She looked at me angrily but then smiled.

I chuckled and shooked my head.

We then continue our little adventure to the beach. When we arrived, Roe was the one who hyped up because in just thirty minutes, we're going to watch the sunset. There's a lot of couples that sitting on the benches so I decided to watch the sunset while sitting on the sand, and Roe gladly accepted my offer.

"I can't wait to capture this! " she pulled out her cell and began to record the process. Although the times hasn't come yet, but the sky looked a little bit dim than usual, signalling us that the sun will sets down in a few minutes.

"So you have my number, James? " she asked suddenly.

"Yes, you have mine too. Don't worry. "

"Why? " she asked.

"You don't like the fact that you have my number? " I said.

"No, nothing. I love you, that's all. " she sad and bluntly looked at the sunset.

"I love you even more, baby. " I said, she looked at me and gave a soft kiss before watching the sunset again.

I pulled out my cell and captured her pic looking at the sunset.

"The sunset looks so pretty. " she said.

I was scrolling through the picture. She thought the view was pretty. I thought she was prettier .

I sent her back home after dinner and we talked outside her house.

"Do you guys have fun? " Max asked, after leading Tate to his car.

"Yeah, bro. " I shake hand with him and gave him a smile, hinting him tat I'd took a good care of her sister. Although I know Max wasn't that close to Roe but I know why. It was because if the mother. And I'm completely fine with Max now.

"Okay then, goodnight. "Max said and got into his car.

"Goodnight. "Roe said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Goodnight baby. " I smiled.

Today was awesome.
