Aurora's POV
"James Cammison? " Cassie looked at me and furrowed her eyebrows.
"Yeah. " Heartlessly I said.
Ironically, my heart was beating so hard I could hear them in my ears. His walks scared me and the nearer he's from me, the nervous I'll be.
"What the hell does she thinks she's doing here?" He exclaimed while referring to Cassie.
Cassie stood up and she hugged her body. Making everyone awared that she's controlling the situation. I stood up as well, just to make sure nothing happened between the two of them.
Rolled her eyes, Cassie spoke. "Excuse me? You were the one who made her wait for you for God knows how long and for God knows why and I'm here to accompany her. Are you really going to raise your voice towards me because of that? Shame on you, Mister!" She inhaled deeply because she said all of that in just one breath.
Stunned, I was frozen on my spot. Before I could adapt the situation, I wanted to save Cassie because I'm scared if she'll be James' victims.
"James, she is just.." before I could continue with my saving sentence, James started to smile.
Raised one of my eyebrows, I drove my gaze from James to Cassie.
James scoffed," You are so stubborn."
"You too arsehole!" They both laughed and I was there still standing like an idiot. Or a third wheel.
Sighed, I started to pack my things and getting ready to go to my class. It was good to know that James actually doesn't need my favours or wanted to pull a prank on me. Fatigue consumed my body and it's barely half of the day.
James caught me and said, "Wait, you need to see the best part."
He whistled loudly and everyone's eyes was on us. No, they were on me.
No, please no.
"James, " Cassie breathed and looked at him. He smiled attentively at her before proceeding with his action.
The back of cafeteria has an open air and the students in the second floor actually has access to see what happened downstairs because there's no covers. For these people? It's a jackpot.
Buckets of flour was thrown on me and I was covered with white flour. James stood back and held his laugh. I almost let out a scream but before I could another disaster came upon.
James and Diana's gang were all holding a bottle of water each and poured them on me. They all laughed and giggled loudly and smiling widely from the second floor before running for their lives, afraid of being caught by the teachers.
Diana approached me slowly with her smug face and touched my cheek before wiping it off on her baby blue napkin.
Diana laughed and kissed James' cheek.
James' eyes never leave me and I was at the edge of crying. "This is not the end. Plus, I asked James to send that stupid sticky note to you. How does it feel, sweetheart?" Diana laughed, this time with James.
His laughs was sincere and it hurts me even more when I was there, standing without doing anything. I was helpless and Cassie came in front of me after her petrified scene.
Annoyed at my silence, she yelled "Tell me how does it feel!"
"Nothing." I whispered.
"What? Did you lose your voice?" She starts to laugh but then stop to hear my answer.
"Nothing." I shrugged. My voice was shaking.
"That's all?" She was annoyed by my skeptical answer.
"What do you want me to say? I'm happy?" Looking up, I locked my gaze with her eyes.
And everybody started to oohs and ahhs.
"My my, somebody is getting more savage! New year's resolution perhaps?" Diana's voice makes me want to punch her in the face but my subconscious mind disagrees with it.
"Whatever, loser. Bye, flour girl!" She drove herself out from the cafeteria and left James behind.
I looked at James.
His pale face and emotionless eyes stared down on me before smiled at me. Nodded at Cassie, he turned his heels and get ready to leave the scene.
"What do you think you're doing, James?!" Cassie spoke.
Wide-eyed, I grabbed Cassie's arm and she brushed it off. It's been a long time since someone back me up and I felt thankful for her at that time.
"What?" He chuckled. "It was for fun. We have some leftovers dough that the girls made for the cookies from the tea party yesterday and I suggested to, you know, put in on the trash can. "
Cassie held her breath and was getting ready to smack him but I stopped her. All of us know there was no tea party and that made my blood boiled. James flinched and walked away.
"Why didn't you let me smack him? " Cassie said.
I smiled. "Don't bother. Save your energy. "
I forced myself to let out a dry laugh and walked away from cafeteria, too.
Put it on the trash can.
His voice lingering in my head and I hate every second of it.
