"I haven't taken you to school before, so I'm going to set a few rules." Sky said.
"What are they?" Alice asked,"Why is it so different then home?"
"Well, Alright, you need to be completely silent. I cannot talk to you during class. Everyone would think I'm crazy, and we can't have that." Sky said to Alice, as the two walked towards Green Hill Elementary, the school both Sky and Aiko attended.
"Alright." Alice nodded,"I'll just explore the classroom, maybe read a book, or something."
"Well... be very cautious. To everyone else, it might just look like somethings floating." Sky said,"And that wouldn't be good."
"I understand. Nothing bad will happen during this school day." Alice said.
"Good." Sky nodded, hoping that that would actually happen. But she had this gnawing feeling it wouldn't turn out so well. Taking Alice to school just seemed like a recipe for disaster.
It wasn't long before Sky was sitting in class, tapping her fingers as the teacher went through the usual morning stuff. Something simple as always to get the day going.
Meanwhile Alice was flying around the classroom, looking closely at all the posters and things scattered about. Although nobody else noticed, Sky was constantly looking around to check where she was. Nobody thought anything of it though, her classmates knew Sky tended to daydream.
For a while, class went on without incident. The students were practicing math, multiplying and dividing with fractions, and Sky was following along. She'd stopped keeping watch on Alice, assuming Alice knew what she was doing since the earlier part of class had gone fine. In fact, the first half of class went fine. Until Alice got bored.
She started flying around, touching anything and everything she could without making anything strange. Which ended up including the fire alarm that was installed in every classroom.
"BRRRNG! BRRRNG!" The alarm rang out, and all the kids looked scared.
"Everyone, stay calm, and evacuate to the grass!" The teacher said, and the kids chaotically ran outside,"And stay in a single file line!"
Alice looked terrified. The annoying sound started as soon as she hit that lever. She didn't know what it did! It probably wasn't her. Yeah, it must've been something else. Right. She was then grabbed by Sky as she ran out of the classroom.
After they evacuated, things were still pretty crazy because of the fire alarm. So it was loud enough for Sky to talk to Alice without worrying about being noticed.
"Alice! Did you pull a lever in the class?" Sky asked, clearly angry.
"...yes..." Alice mumbled out.
"Did you know that would cause all this to happen?" Sky asked.
"...no..." Alice replied.
"Now the schools going to be all over looking for who pulled this prank." Sky said,"That could cause a problem."
"But they can't see me. So I'll be fine." Alice said, smiling.
"They can't see you. They can still blame me." Sky said.
"But why?" Alice said.
"Because I'm the only one in my classroom who might do something like pull the fire alarm for fun. I've got a certain reputation, to be honest. It's why not many other kids hang out with me." Sky said, and she looked down,"So I'm sure everyone will blame me."
"Sky, you can't just say that and be so down." Alice said.
"Huh?" Sky sounded a bit confused.
"If you always think that, then you'll never get any friends, that's true. But what you need to do is be more confident, be more willing to try to talk to others. Waiting for someone to come to you doesn't always work out." Alice said,"I'm sure you'll be happier if you have more friends, and I'm sure you can find them if you just reach out." Alice said.
"You really think so?" Sky sounded surprised.
"I'm sure of it." Alice nodded.
"Thank you." Sky said,"But that still won't matter if I get blamed for the fire alarm you caused."
"Ummm, well, sorry. I didn't know." Alice said.
"It's okay. I forgot to warn you, after all. Maybe things will still turn out fine. I guess we can just hope." Sky said.
Of course, it was confirmed as a prank, and they knew it came from Sky's class. But luckily for Sky, the teacher said she was certain nobody was back there that could've pulled the alarm. In the end, despite a few kids trying to blame Sky, it just ended up as a mystery. 'The mysterious fire alarm of class 24.'
"Whew." Alice wiped sweat of her forehead,"I was totally nervous there. Looks like you're fine, huh?"
Sky just glared at her, because class was still going.
"Oh, sorry. I'll just stand here until the end of class. That way nothing more will..."
"Shhh!" Sky shushed Alice, annoyed at her talking.
The teacher and a few kids turned their heads towards Sky,"Are you okay?" The teacher asked.
"Oh...yeah...totally fine. Everything's great." Sky said, managing to only sound suspicious.
"Well, if you say so." The teacher said.
Luckily the rest of class passed without distractions.
"I am never taking you to school again!" Sky said,"Not until you prove you can control yourself."
"Sorry, sorry." Alice said,"But that won't happen again."
"I hope so. If I do take you to school, stay in my backpack during class. You can't do anything harmful from there." Sky said.
"Alright. I'm sorry." Alice said,"But hey, at least things turned out alright."
"Well, you gave everyone a scare." Sky said,"But, I do think it helped me to hear what you said."
"What?" Alice sounded a bit confused.
"I think, I'm going to try to make a few more friends. I was scared, but, I think you helped me." Sky said,"I'll try to ask others. Then, I can play with more people than you and Aiko."
"That's great. I've been hoping you'll make friends." Alice said,"It's something I want to help you with."
"You've already helped, Alice. You may cause some trouble, no, a lot of trouble. But, thanks for being there for me." Sky smiled at her.
"Well, of course. It's what I do." Alice said.
"Still, thank you." Sky said, as the two headed home for the day.
