This is what happens when I get bored and spend all my time playing Summon Night games.
I'm using default character names so yeah.
Characters:
Pratty: Summon Night Swordcraft Story 1 female protagonist
Aera: Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 female protagonist
Arca: Summon Night 5 female protagonist
I imagine this takes place in the fishing spot from Swordcraft Story 2.
--------
"You know, it just occurred to me exactly how similar our names are." Aera said, casting her line,"I mean, you change two letters, and boom. Same name."
"I guess so." Arca said, trying to reel in a fish,"This is surprisingly more difficult without Spinel helping me."
"Spinel...that's your Guardian Bea..." Aera started.
"Cross. She's my Cross." Arca corrected,"We don't use that term anymore."
"Oh, right." Aera said,"The Future and all that. Sounds rather farfetched to me, but I guess that makes sense."
"Damn it!" Arca suddenly shouted.
"What?" Aera turned to look at her.
"I couldn't catch the fish." Arca said.
"Oh. Wait! I've got one." Aera said, trying to pull the fish in with all her strength.
"You can do it!" Arca cheered her on.
"I think it's a big one!" Aera said,"Come on, come on, come on..."
Arca watched intently, wanting to see exactly how the other girl planned to catch this fish.
"Here goes!" Aera pulled with all her strength, launching a large fish out of the water.
"Wow, you really did it!" Arca had admiration in her voice.
"Of course I did." Aera said,"I've fished ever since I was a child, you know."
"I only started a few weeks ago. Luckily I'm a really fast learner." Arca explained.
"Oh...what are you two doing here?" Pratty asked, walking up to the two of them,"Wait...are you fishing?"
"Yep. Fishing has always been a nice activity to calm me down. Especially when work as a Summoner starts to pile up." Arca said.
"I just like it." Aera said,"It's fun. I thought you lived in Wystern? I'd think you'd learn how to fish in a city surrounded by water."
"Well, actually, there's not many fish around Wystern. Too much machinery and stuff, most fish don't like it." Pratty explained,"Not to mention people riding around on water scooters all the time. Plus, fishings never seemed interesting to me."
"I bet you just haven't tried it." Aera said.
"Well, yeah, but I don't think I'd get into it. It takes too long from everything I hear." Pratty said.
"Well, I think you've got to at least try it." Arca said,"I've got a spare fishing rod and some bait you could use."
"You don't need to do that for me." Pratty said,"I doubt I'd make a good fisherman anyways."
"I'm a Craftknight and a great fisherman, so you'll definitely be at least pretty good." Aera said, smiling,"You should try it."
"Well, I guess it won't hurt to give it a shot." Pratty said.
--------
A few hours later...
"Woohoo! I got another one!" Pratty said happily,"You're a really good teacher, Arca."
"Thanks. I just had a good teacher myself." Arca says.
"You're getting the hang of it really fast too." Aera says.
"I didn't think it would be fun like this." Pratty said,"Maybe I should see if I can do stuff like this in my spare time when I return to Wystern. Oh, I never asked! How are Craftknight's doing in your time, Arca?"
"Craftknights...well, they still live here and their. And their forging qualities are second to none." Arca said.
"How about Wystern, how's it doing?" Pratty asked.
"I can't tell you too much about the future, you know..." Arca said, avoiding the question.
"Oh, but...I'd really like to know." Pratty said,"The idea that I could learn something about how all my work turns out it so interesting."
"You shouldn't pry too much though. It's not like you'll ever go to the future yourself, so I think it's better to focus on now." Aera said,"And just try to catch some good fish."
"Yeah." Arca agreed.
"I guess." Pratty says,"Oh, I've got another one."
"Me too!" Arca said.
"There's a lot of fish around right now." Aera said, also feeling one bite.
"Awww...my line broke." Pratty said after a bit,"Still learning, I suppose."
"Got it!" Arca said, pulling the fish out of the water.
"Great. I've still got to get this one." Aera said, focusing heavily,"And...boom. One more big fish."
"Wow. I just realized the sun is going down." Pratty said,"I spent more time learning and fishing than I'd thought."
"Time can sure fly sometimes." Arca said,"To tell you the truth, I've been late to Eucross meetings due to losing track of time fishing."
"Wow. I don't have to deal with stuff like that." Aera said,"Being a Summoner sounds hard. I hope Nina's alright."
"Well, so does being a Craftknight." Arca said,"You have a lot of work too. And you, you're a Craftlord, so..."
"Yep, I have to deal with paperwork and stuff as well." Pratty said,"Aera, you're the only one here with a calm life."
"Yeah, well it only became calm a few weeks ago. None of you have to deal with Mono Shift." Aera said.
"Oh, I still want to see that." Pratty said.
"If only our Crosses were here, we could have a match." Arca said.
"For us they're Guardian Beasts." Aera reminded her.
"Oh, right." Arca said.
"Well, with all these fish we caught, both of you can come to my place and we can cook up quite the meal." Aera said.
"That sounds great." Pratty agreed.
"Just, whatever you do, don't let Tatiana touch anything related to cooking." Aera warned them.
"Oh, I can make some coffee too, if you'd like. It'd be a little thing for all the hospitality you've given me." Arca said.
"Coffee? Isn't that a morning thing?" Aera said.
"Well, yeah, but I bet you'll like mine enough that it won't matter. I kind of have this reputation as 'Bar Master' back home. As much as I don't always want it." Arca said.
"Then, sounds fine." Pratty said.
"Alright, let's get going." Aera said. And with that, a uneventful but enjoyable day of fishing ended.
