Aki had left, gone home just like 'she had'. That girl would never get it. And yet she was still improving so quickly. Meanwhile Kat just felt stuck. Stuck being weak. No matter what she did, there was someone else stronger than her, better than her. She wanted to change. She had to change. She'd said she couldn't, but maybe if she found some other way...Aki was so strong, she had so many people supporting her, all because of her father. How could she oppose that. Her sister didn't help her. She didn't want her sisters help anyway. So what did that leave her with? What could she do that Aki couldn't? She knew the truth about three years ago. She could use that to her advantage. She had to use that to her advantage.
"Myojin. We're going down the labyrinth. The whole way." Kat said, summoning her Guardian Beast.
Myojin let out a surprised shriek, but then nodded its small body, ready to help Kat in whatever way it could as her Guardian Beast.50 floors. They traveled down 50 floors. Without all the necessary keys, Kat had used Myojin to burst open the locked doors she couldn't open with its flames, but now she was ready. The door in front of her had a colored 'X' on it, and there was an incredible heat coming from behind it. This was the door. The door Parista lied behind.
Myojin retreated a bit, seeming afraid, but Kat opened the door in front of her. She could feel the menacing presence in front of her. Walking inside, the heat got to her, but it was nothing she couldn't handle.
"Parista." Kat said, walking up to the massive Beast in front of her.
"Why ist a human like thee here?" Parista growled.
"I'm just here to make a deal with you. Kat said.
"Why would a human like thee want to make a deal with me." Parista asked.
"Because you're the only way I can get what I seek."
Kat said.
"But, why shouldn't I just burn thee away right now?" Parista growled out.
"Because I believe we can make a mutually beneficial deal." Kat said,"It's not like someone like me is strong enough to get in your way anyways."
"I see. What dost thy seek?" Parista asked.
"Power. The power I need to prove I am stronger then everyone else." Kat said.
"Everyone else? That doesn't sound like the truth." Parista said,"I can see into thy heart."
"What are you saying?" Kat asked.
"You want strength to defeat her. The child of Bolt." Parista said.
"That's..." Kat looked down. Thinking about what she might do to Aki by doing this. But...she would also be proving to Aki how things don't always go perfectly,"That's right."
"I can give thee that strength." Parista said.
"Good." Kat replied.
"On a condition." Parista said,"That I will still have full control over the strength I give thee."
"If that's what it takes...I'll do it." Kat said. Finally. She'd been waiting for something like this! Even if she had needed to go to Parista. The power, was something she'd always wanted. To prove to everyone, Aki, that she wasn't weak. This would finally break those chains of weakness that nobody else seemed to be held it! Fire washed over her from Parista, and she could feel the power. Burning and burning and burning. It made her just want to go and burn everyone who ever looked down on her already. But she resisted that urge.
"Dost thou think thou can control it?" Parista asked.
"I am simply using this power to accomplish my goals. Nothing else." Kat said, turning around to leave.
She could hear the guttural laugh of Parista behind her, but she tuned it out.As she headed up the labyrinth again, Kat found it far easier to defeat the Stray Summons than it was before. She really was far stronger. No longer did she have to run from any monsters. Myojin had also gained strength, it flames burned far more intensely, due to Parista's influence.
But Kat also couldn't shake a terrible pain, and a terrible fear. What she'd just done...did that really even prove she was strong? Even if she could defeat Aki now. And she'd allowed some kind of monster to give her power. What if she couldn't control Parista's power. Kat had to push those thoughts away. But they didn't want to leave either. What could she do now? There was no take backs for that action. But she needed to say something. But she couldn't tell anyone either. She realized that even with her strength, she still felt lost. She had to use this power, and she wanted to. But...she needed to at least do something. When she got back, it was already morning. She decided to go see Aki. Even if Aki didn't know what had really happened. She could apologize. If she couldn't say too much either. She still had to defeat Aki, prove she was stronger, and she still needed to use this power to do it.But in truth, Kat had no clue what she really wanted or needed to do anymore.
