"Soooo, it's your birthday coming up." Alice said.
"Yep." Sky replied.
"And Aiko's too." Alice continued.
"Yep."
"So we'll need to get her a present then, right?" Alice asked.
"Yeah. We always trade a present with one another. The only problem is, I'm not sure what she'd want this year." Sky said,"I mean, I can't just ask her."
"Then she'd know what she'd be getting." Alice said, nodding.
"So, we'll have to find out in a more discreet way." Sky said,"Like, watch her watch TV until an ad comes up that she seems to like."
"But, you might just end up watching the TV then. And not notice Aiko." Alice pointed out.
"That could happen...but I don't think I'm that easily distracted!" Sky exclaimed.
"So that plan is a no-go." Alice said, crossing it off on a tiny piece of paper she happened to have in her hands.
"We don't know that yet!" Sky said.
"Well, I'm small, so actually, you can just leave it to me!" Alice said.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Sky asked.
"I can spy on her without her knowing. Because I can hide super easily and am tiny." Alice said.
"But, I really can't imagine you as the sneaky type. You might knock something over, you know. That wouldn't be good at all." Sky said.
"Well, maybe. But hey, it's not like we have any other real option. That would work, I mean." Alice said.
"Alright. You better not get noticed, though." Sky said,"If you do, then I'll, ummm, do something bad to you!"
Alice laughed,"Alright, I understand. Mission, go!" She flew off out of Sky's room, to find Aiko.
--------
"I'm sorry Sky! But every time I try to spy on her, she always finds me. And I haven't figured out what she would like." Alice said.
"But our birthday is in like, 3 days! If we're going to even have something, we need to have it now!" Sky said,"Ummm, ummmm, I have to be able to come up with something. What would Aiko like? What could I get that she would like?" She thought aloud, hoping to come up with something.
After a while of Sky debating out loud with herself over what she should get for Aiko, she was about to give up for the moment, when Alice suddenly shouted,"I've got it!"
"Really, what?" Sky instantly responded.
"Well, I'm not sure." Alice said.
"But...you just said,'I've got it!'?" Sky sounded confused.
"I don't know exactly what it should be. But I think I know what it could be like." Alice said.
"Like, what?" Sky asked.
"Make the present something that just says 'you'. A present from your heart." Alice said.
"So, something I would like?" Sky still was a bit confused.
"Well, something that Aiko could look at and go,'That was the present Sky gave me.' Plus, you're sisters, so in sure you'll like some of the same stuff. And even if she doesn't, she'll still be happy." Alice says confidently.
"Why?"
"Because she'll knew you thought about the present. She'll know it's something you picked out for her. And that's what really matters. I'm sure of it." Alice says.
"Yeah, you're right. Thank you." Sky says, smiling,"Now let's go get a present!"
"What'll it be?" Alice asked.
"I'll know it when I'll see it." Sky said,"It'll be like an adventure finding one."
"That's perfect." Alice said.
--------
And the last two days slowly passed. Sky barely kept her mouth shut about what she bought, and Alice made sure it was still kept secret. Aiko also had bought something for Sky, and the moment of time came for them to exchange presents.
"Wow, the present you got is much bigger than mine." Sky said, holding a medium sized box shaped gift, in comparison to Aiko's larger box shaped gift.
"Well, that's not what counts. So, here." Aiko handed Sky the gift.
"Oh, here. I hope you like it, Sis. I thought real hard about this one." Sky handed Aiko her gift.
"While then, let's open them." Aiko said, and the two sisters tore open the gift-wrap with incredible speed.
"Woah." Sky said, as she looked at present. It was the kind of pirate ship model one would buy if they had a lizard of relatively small pet. In fact, it seemed to just fit Alice,"So, you bought this for me and her?"
"Yep. I figured she needed a house. And for you and Alice, I couldn't think of anything better." Aiko said,"I'm glad you like it."
Sky smiled, and then looked down nervously,"And...what do you think of my gift?"
In Aiko's hands was an ant-farm kit. The kind where you could see the ants build their tunnels and homes inside it.
Aiko chuckled a bit,"I have to say, I'm a little surprised. I didn't expect something like this."
"Do you...not like it?" Sky sounded sad.
"No, not at all! I like it a lot. I can tell you bought this for me. Thanks, Sky." Aiko smiled.
"You're welcome. And thanks a ton for your present." Sky said.
Alice flew over,"Yay! Everything went great. See, Sky, I told you it would be good."
"Alice came up with the present?" Aiko said.
"Nope. I just helped get her going in the right direction." Alice said.
"Still, thanks." Aiko said to Alice,"Well, it's almost time for birthday dinner. Mom's probably made cake, so we shouldn't keep her waiting."
"Yeah." Sky said,"Alice, I'll save some cake for you."
"Thanks, Sky." Alice said.

The rest of the day went great, with Sky and Aiko both enjoying themselves. Sky was just relieved Aiko liked her present. It wasn't often Sky got to give something back to Aiko, and Aiko always helped her so much, free of charge. So Sky always made sure, whenever she had the chance to give something or do something for Aiko, she would make it count.

OOC: I actually feel really good about this one. Like, I'n normally either feeling 'meh' or 'that sucked' when I finish writing a one-shot or chapter. But, I actually feel successful about this one. Like, I actually think I made it heartwarming. Did I?

Ps: Oh, and by this point, the whole Adventure thing is just part of the title. Most of these chapters aren't necessarily going to be adventures. But who knows, maybe I'll start adding a real plot to these soon. But even if I do, I'll still try to keep the tone of these chapters. Like, it'll never be actually dark or depressing. (If it ever ends up dark or depression, I give you full permission to yell at future me.)
