Arzaya"Shay, I think I'll just go," I said, withdrawing from her grasp. I slowly backed out but she quickly locked my arm on her.
"No! You bítch, you're already here!" Shay dragged me with her but I tried to pull back.
Klay's parents were out for the weekend so he and his brothers decided to throw a house party. I heard almost all of Oakland High were attending but that wasn't good news to me.
From outside, you could already hear the loud, booming music playing and so many people were coming in and out with red cups.
And then there was Steph's car parked outside.
"Shay, I swear. I'll just go back home. You can go without me, it's okay," I convinced.
Shay narrowed her stare and crossed her arms. "Why? Because of Stephen? Then just ignore him. You aren't here for him, anyway. He'll realize what a big asshóle he is."
I considered going in. I guess maybe I could ignore him and just avoid crossing his path or whatever. I did that yesterday and I could sure do the same thing tonight.
"And besides," she added. "Look at you! You look so glamorous! Don't tell me I wasted all afternoon picking an outfit and doing your face beat for nothing. Come on, let's go!"
I felt so conscious about myself. I had never worn shorts this short and I feel so uncovered that I kept pulling it down. It was the first time I had dressed up like this because I never really cared about I how looked to other people. I never cared if I was too plain.
But Shay was right. I had to stop being a whiny bítch and just enjoy the night. Why should Stephen stop me from having fun? Besides, Ben was going to be there. I'll just focus my night with him.
"Excuse me, Klay's girlfriend coming in," Shay announced to the few people forming a crowd by the front door. I chuckled and give the people apologetic smiles.
As we stepped inside, my nose was immediately greeted by the smell of smoke, lime, musk, and leather.
The house was dimly lit but the dancing strobe lights made the house have a party vibe. Also, the stereo was on full blast and everyone was either dancing or having a conversation with their drinks on hand. There were flying ping pong balls and lots and lots of teenagers jamming to Drake.
